I'm not Orthodox but was introduced to the Jesus prayer many years ago, and the Lord definitely used it to draw me to Him and I was blessed mightily through praying it . There truly is the whole of the Gospel in this prayer. I did read about it in The Way of the Pilgrim, too, and also read The Pilgrim Continues His Way.
