I used to enjoy watching NFL games on TV. But when failed quarterback Colin Kaepernick "took a knee", I quit watching. I tuned in to watch football, not be subjected to radical alt-left bullshit.
President Trump's recent call for the firing of NFL players "taking a knee" brought the issue front and center, and I have been actively opposing this "knee-taking" online as my small, personal contribution to the fight. In the course of doing that, I have assembled a list of information I've found useful for taking a stand, and today I will share them.

A survey by Remington Research Group found that 64 percent of voters agree with President Trump and want players to stand for the anthem. The survey also found that 80 percent of voters want less politics in sports, while 51 percent say they are watching less football than in previous years.
Among those watching less football, 69 percent pointed to “Players using the NFL as a stage for their political views” as the primary reason why.
Of course, all the lackeys and toadies around them, who live off the scraps that fall from their table, work to prevent their thoughts from turning too dark. They exist to prop up their egos and convince them of the rectitude of their causes. This largely explains the sorry spectacle of craven owners, broadcasters, coaches, and various other boot-lickers rushing to the defense of NFL players boycotting the flag. The coddling was akin to witnessing college administrators “protect” student radicals determined to burn their universities down.
With the owners kneeling in “solidarity” with flag-boycotters, the corruption of professional sports is now complete. Having chosen nihilism over the nation, they have no one to blame but themselves when professional football ceases to be a national pastime.
The Dems have always stayed in power by keeping the black man and woman down. Up until Martin Luther King, it was Jim Crow. Then came the Great Society to make welfare a way of life and remove the mission of men in the community -- to take care of it and their families -- and hook them on the culture of poverty. The black family survived 250 years of slavery, 100 years of segregation, but was destroyed by 50 years of liberalism, of, for instance, Maxine Waters.
A Justice Department report published in 2001 noted that between 1976 and 1998, the teen and adult population grew by 47 million people, and the number of police officers increased by more than 200,000, yet the number of people killed by police “did not generally rise” over this period. Moreover, a “growing percentage of felons killed by police are white, and a declining percentage are black.” A separate Justice study released in 2011 also reported a decline in killings by police, between 1980 and 2008. And according to figures from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the rate at which police kill blacks has fallen by 70% since the late 1960s. [bold mine]
Those kneeling assert that there is an epidemic of white police officers who work their beat every night with the explicit intention to murder innocent black people. They are suggesting that there is an epidemic of institutional white racism in this country going unaddressed, and that the only way to draw attention to this, the Black Lives Matter narrative, is to kneel during the National Anthem at pro football games.
There is no convincing evidence that either claim is true, and it is a malicious narrative that has arguably already led to a death toll among police officers being targeted for their presumably widespread racism and brutality.
