Living in a place far from the city is not always easy. Our home is surrounded by rice fields, and we are far from other houses and stores. Here in our area, if you want to go somewhere, you really need to walk or travel far. That is why simple things become very special for us.
One thing that always makes me happy is when the ice cream vendor comes to our place. Honestly, I really appreciate his effort because our area is not easy to reach. He rides his motorcycle under the hot sun just to sell ice cream in places like ours. Sometimes, even if we were not planning to buy, I still buy ice cream because I think about the long distance, he traveled just to reach us. I know it is not easy for him.
Because of that, ice cream became one of my daughter’s favorite treats. Every time she hears the bell from far away, she immediately becomes excited. She starts shouting happily and runs around with a big smile on her face. Seeing her so excited over something simple melts my heart every time. As a mother, I realize that children do not really need expensive things to become happy. Sometimes, simple moments and simple treats are enough to make them feel loved and excited.
There are also days when the weather is very hot, and honestly, eating ice cream feels so refreshing. Sometimes, when we deliver vegetables to the city, we also buy extra ice cream to stock at home because living far from stores can be difficult. There are times when cravings are hard to satisfy when you live in a remote area, so we try to prepare what we can.
What makes me even happier is how my daughter learned to control herself even at a young age. She only gets enough to eat and makes sure there is still some left for tomorrow. For me, that is already a beautiful lesson about contentment and discipline.
Thank you for reading my story, this is my owned picture and edited in Canva. This simple experience reminded me that happiness does not always come from expensive things. Sometimes, the most unforgettable joy comes from simple moments shared with family, appreciation for hard work, and learning to be grateful for what we have. Have a nice day!
