Hello rally fans😌!
The fight for the 2024 WRC Manufacturers’ Title has turned incredibly intense as Hyundai and Toyota head into the final round in Japan. Hyundai currently leads Toyota by a slim margin of just 15 points, after a challenging Central European Rally where key events shifted the momentum. Ott Tänak’s victory and Sébastien Ogier’s crash gave Hyundai some breathing room, but Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota), kept the pressure on with strong performances, cutting Hyundai’s lead significantly.
Thierry Neuville is not only pursuing his Drivers’ Title but is also Hyundai’s position for the Manufacturers’ Title. Both teams are expected to bring everything they’ve got to Rally Japan, which starts on November 21, as it will determine both championships for the season.
For Hyundai, internal coordination will be essential to avoid any setbacks that could give Toyota the upper hand. For Toyota to clinch the title, it would need an almost perfect performance. If Toyota’s top two drivers finish in the first two spots in each scoring board, they could score the maximum of 55 points. This would put pressure on Hyundai, as even third and fourth place finishes would give Hyundai only 37 points. However, if Hyundai manages to place at least one driver in the top two, it would likely secure their title.
M-Sport as per usual isn’t anywhere near😅(💔). They’re carrying their 245 points very proudly...
Rally Japan promises a nail-biting finish, bring it on🫡.
