What’s With The Vehement Anti-Smoking Jihad?
I took my dog for a walk in the park and came across this sign.
I began to wonder who it is that was behind the creation of it. I wondered if I was in a public park being paid for by my taxes. I thought about second hand and third hand smoke, and how over the top the fear of them is.
I believe it is ridiculous that an American in ‘the land of the free’ cannot smoke in a park. It’s not like the smoke is going to seek out a victim like the evil spirits in The Ghosts Of Mars. I see a day sometime in the future where the average park is going to have a massive pole with fourteen different signs telling people all of the things they cannot do: “No Talking Too Loud,” “Throwing hard objects such as frisbees and footballs not allowed,” “A Maximum Of Two Dogs Per Patron,” “Any Child Under 10 Years Of Age Must Be Leashed,” etc.
Oppression is often disguised as compassion and it is incremental. Okay, tell me where I’m wrong.
