Sometimes Steemit can be so frustrating..
I have been here for about 3 weeks now, and don't get me wrong I love it! But.. there is a side of Steemit that can be really frustrating. Which is, being noticed. I have been lucky enough getting curated once by @Curie. An article that got me 250$, because someone was kind enough to see the potential and share the link with Curie. If it weren't for this fact, I would most likely have gotten 5 dollars, tops. I am not saying all my posts are worth that amount, but this is the part where my frustation comes up and, (I am pretty sure) so it does for others like myself.
(To clarify, my frustration is not towards Curie, Curie is one of the best iniatives out there!)
The thing is, just a small hand of people contain most of the Steem Power. So one vote of them means being paid and seen. Even though I believe a lot of them have good intentions it means that one; their opinion is what makes ones work valuable, and two; they can't divide all their attention and vote power towards everyone that deserves it. It can be very frustrating seeing some people constantly being backed up article after article by the same whales, while you have been working so hard for your content and it barely gets seen..
On one side you need a lot of luck being seen by a whale, and that they are liking your particular posts. On the other hand you need continuous quality content. Which in time will resolve to a solid follow base who is interested in your particular matters, and bring the dolphins and whales along with it.
So this is why and where I decided
I have made a few (considerable) easy memes and kind of regret it now. They are of low quality compared to the other posts I made. As I have been thinking about it and what I really want to achieve here on Steemit, I have decided not to make any more posts of low quality content. Which In my case meant making quick memes presented as single posts. Now I am not saying that everyone should do this, and that this by definition means that making memes or similar postings is something one shouldn't do. This is ment for those that want to become a serious blogger, building that foundation for a solid following base up as I just have mentioned.
So, from this day forth I will only be bringing quality content up. Or atleast in my definition it is ;). Something I put some extra effort in. Might still mean it's really crappy to you hehe
