The biggest disappointment with Auckland is no Orcs. So for all you Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings fans (as opposed to J.R.R. Tolkien fans) out there be ready to feel let down.
What an opportunity missed, and I'm reasonably sure I won't have been the first to notice.
No. There are no fantastical creatures here.
Instead, the tower in the city centre - the Sky Tower, is reminiscent of Jetsons-era sci fi. Flying cars. Robot servants.
Don't get me wrong - part of me still feels ripped-off because it's only the lucky people of Auckland (and maybe Canberra) who have created a semblance of this happy future to live in.
But still, I can't help but feel a little let down.
And then again. We will be seeing Star Wars VIII this arvo, so pretty happy about that. There should be droids and starships galore in that.
So my verdict is, all in all, Orcland delivers.
