It was gently whispering, so I opened it up to hear the words.
I spend a few moments of time with nature and experience joy in its simplest form. Flowers were an easy pick because they create so much joy and happiness. A rose is soft, smells sweet, and is a symbol of love, kindness, and friendship. Look around this world and develop your sense of appreciation for the joyful sights around you. Flowers in the woods, the laughter of children, the sound of the waves rolling in... and on and on... Here, take a flower or four.
The cycle of nature continues, renewing my faith that all will be well again, someday. Given time and space to heal and strengthen.
My day started with words offered from the heart: thank you. I will say them over and over. And then say them again. I can feel the joy of this day—a light shining in a sometimes jaded world.
Grace isn’t a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live - Jackie Windspear
The petals of my soul burst forth in bloom, for there is no other meaning to a flower than to show its sunshine.
Flowers really do intoxicate me - Vita Sackville-West+
Using the beauty of a new day
Cover me with a blanket of your memory
So I can tell you once again
I love you so
And it will be true
Again
Even though many places have been cleared to carry on as normal, please wear a mask when you go out and use proper social distancing.
And just like that, this post is over! Come back tomorrow and I'll do it again. Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Just remember, kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.
they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
