Hello, My name is Dustin Hutson. I am incredibly new to Steemit and all things crypto currency. I learned about the potential of Steemit platform, Steem and other Crypto's on youtube while searching for word press web building tutorials and marketing strategies. Randomly, a Bitcoin video caught my attention and i learned of alt Coins and eventually Jerry Banfield introduced me to Steemit. i heard more chatter and eventually signed up. After an agonizing 3 week wait, I finally got the e-mail granting me access.
Now that you know how i got here i will tell you a little bit about myself. I live in a mountain valley town in Montana USA.
I am 25 years old at the time of this post and am married to my wife Shelbey. We have a 3 year old son named Landon. I work for a painting contractor and am also a spray technician in a wood pre-finish shop.
I am an avid outdoorsman and I spend much of my spare time outdoors in the mountains or fishing in a river or lake. I spend a lot of time taking kids fishing and am active in local fishing forums and facebook pages in an effort to be a helpful community member and help inform the public on ethical and safe use and preservation of our natural resources. My wife and I Hunt every year as an alternative to store bought beef.
Now a little bit about why I'm interested in steemit and blockchain.
I'm very supportive of decentralized blockchain technology, cryptocurrency's and steemit for many reasons. The first being the transparency which is why I'm being very transparent in my first post. I hope to be as genuine as possible in order to build healthy and trustworthy relationships with other users. I was embarking on the journey of blogging and SEO as a way to start building a following. I may still work on that project but I'm interested in the ability to gain exceptional organic search traffic on steemit. Steem as a Crypto currency is very interesting as well. i WILL be powering up some steem very soon.
I have basically no following on any social media short of friends and family. I'm still exploring what paths to pursue. Day trading and mid/long term investing in crypto's are a seriouse interest of mine. I'm hoping to learn more about crypto's and ICO investing while on steemit.
The world seems to be changing faster then we can we can keep up with but I'm doing my best not to get left behind. The idea of getting rewarded for contributing my time and good content to the community is a motivating factor but NOT my main focus on steemit. The overall growth and expansion of steemit and the technologies it uses is my main goal in order to make the world a better place. I do own a domain and am in the process of building a blog and educational website called AnglersEd.com
I am interested in writing articles about outdoor recreation and conservation and also just educational content in general pertaining to the things I'm most interested in. That being said i want to be as helpful to the steemit community as possible.
I will challenge myself to convert some friends and family into steemit users with some introductive posts to steemit and cryptocurrency. people seem to be very uninterested in learning about crypto's even if it can make them money. I'm in this to educate as many people as i can. I believe in this technology and community and want to share it with people i care about and others who want to learn.
Please comment below and share your idea of what helpful content is. I guess what I'm asking is for example: are there enough fisherman/hunters/prospectors/outdoorsmen in the steemit community to post content on the topics? if not, will posting on those types of topics and inviting people to read them potentially help expand steemit into a more diversified platform?
Thank you so very much for spending your valuable time to read my story and my steemit introduction post. All comments, thoughts and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated and highly valued. I will follow anyone who is kind enough to follow me!
Thanks and steem on!
