Hi everybody! Today I am going to talk about Tulum and the Tulum Ruins.
Tulum Ruins
The Ruins are located 62km south of Playa del Carmen and 80km from Cancun. There are Airports in both of this cities. It takes just a 5 minutes car ride from the city centre of Tulum.
There are enough places to Park outside, but it is definitely better to be there early morning, since it’s a famous Mayan attraction.
The entrance fee is around 75 Pesos (4 dollars). We paid around 11 dollars for parking.
Story about the Tulum Ruins
Tulum is a pre-Colombian Mayan city which served as one of the most important ports for Coba in the state of Quintana Roo. The ruins are situated along the east Caribbean coast of Yacután. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited by the Maya. Now it is one of the best preserved coastal Maya sites for tourists.
We walked through this place and were stunned! It is a kind of a big area but there are no shops inside to buy water or food, so make sure to bring everything with you like water, snacks and sun protection.
What about the City?
The City Tulum has also a lot to offer. It is full of restaurants, bars and little stores that sell Mexican souvenirs. Close to the city are also different Cenotes (Caves) for snorkelling and exploring.
There are buses from the centre the whole day or just grab a cheap taxi. As we rented a car for our time we never had to use public transportation.
So thanks for reading my post about Tulum and its ruins. Hope to see you next time on my channel.
