Things that my Grandmother did not tell me: Preface

Yesterday I was chatting with a fellow steemian who is struggling with creating content which might prove successful in the future (Hive account@subornalata). She and her husband Hive account@msmamun have been struggling largely because they haven't found their own voice ... not understanding that people are interested in the commonplace and special things that individuals do in their daily lives. My Grandmother and Sister

One of the things that Hive account@subornalata has tried is to have a series of Aesop-Esque stories which I find interesting ... because as a child I would read fables from other countries - because wisdom has no borders. My own children grew up with stories like the Paper Bag Princess (which formed their own view of the world)

In keeping with Hive account@subornalata, I too want to relate some information but things my Grandmother did not tell me. My grandmother lived until 1995 and had witness 99 years of changes in our society. She lived before many things we take for granted existed (cars, electricity in most households, telephones etc.) However there is an expression - the more things change ... the more they stay the same. With that in mind, I will tell my own stories about how things have changed and how they actually are the same.
