I am the kosoko Maaki
I have walked the dreading deserts
I have crossed the seven seas
Falcons have never viewed my apex
Nor has the mighty probed my roots
I alone am left
Where heroes had fallen
And the carcass of the mighty thrown
And gone in to sleep

There I stood
Unmoved, unshaken, unwavered
In my strength was a shield
As courage enveloped my being
I was sown at noon
And I sprouted at full moon
With might I engaged the battle
Fearless at the armies before me
Their hands parched
Who dare to remove my bark?
Like an artist old carving stone
And twenty axes I break before noon
And there I stood fearless
Till the ageless moon wanes to nadir.
