The statement "I trek for Africa" is a local Nigeria idiom that says "I trek a lot". I've never enjoyed any wheel like the ones on my feet. I happened to find myself among the class known as introverts and the non-social class. We just exist in the comfort of our room and hardly do anything, thanks to blogging that gave me a second duty, else , I do sleep all day and still complain about being busy. The issue with my personality is that we hardly go out or do anything too frequent except sleep if we have no work to attend to. In order to substitute my lack of exercise, I chose trekking. I do this every evening, I can decide to walk 3-5 kilometers every evening and return home.

Aside from trekking, there's nothing I've made a habit of. Trekking has almost the same benefits as hitting the gym or doing other random exercises. No matter what, I ensure I walk at least 2 km in a day. I believe this has helped me stay healthy over time in the absence of real exercises. This daily walking routine had helped me to know places around me and had revealed short routes that lead to several towns.
Trekking sometimes is perceived to be suffering, unfortunately, people don't realize the amount of calories burned during this process. Our fathers were known to walk distance to visit relatives or attend certain functions and this helped him stay healthier. There were no gyms then, but they lived longer and healthier because they engaged in trekking. Nothing burns calories faster, and that's why I make trekking my daily routine, or maybe trekking made it routine, any which way, routine is what's important.
