TL;DR - I did a comparison of all posts in the past month considering EOS on the subreddit r/CryptoCurrency, and came out with numbers showing nothing short of aggressive brigading against EOS

It has really became too much for me, so I decided to back my thoughts using some factual numbers.

The subreddit r/CryptoCurrency, is arguably the biggest and most influential forum on the topic of crypto-currencies in the internet.
A subreddit that is said to be "for open discussions on all subjects related to emerging crypto-currencies and crypto-assets."

In an important post from march 20, the subreddit's mods announced a change of rules for the subreddit, following "professional manipulation groups who use FUD, bots, and other manipulation attacks to mislead the market", However, there's clearly an aggressive campaign of FUDers prompted on this very subreddit against EOS, and ignored widely by its mods. Moreover, there are community members who still believe EOS is pushed and supported unproportionally.

So I've looked at all the EOS posts with more than 10 comments (to make sure I'm not looking at posts that went under the radar), categorized them to Anti and pro EOS posts, and here are the crazy results! (All posts referenced can be found at the end of this article):

Average number of upvotes for Pro-EOS posts:

0.813

Average number of upvotes for Anti-EOS posts:

271.2

Again, 271 against 0.81. Yes, you are seeing right.

So what causes this crazy difference?
Basically, it doesn't matter if the quality of content is low, if it's repeating posts that were there a day and two days before, as long as the post has a negative tone against EOS it gains huge support.
The examples are numerous. Take one:

Has 8% upvotes, while terrible reads like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/8g768p/eos_dont_believe_the_hype/
has 1483 . (BTW, if you don't agree with me about how terrible it is, you can read my comment on the post (edgya)).

Moreover you'd also have to explain the recurring posts explaining about the lack of use of the tokens or the recurring posts about the future of the network with 21 BP's. Every post the same.

Downvoting pro EOS comments

Maybe a stronger argument for a community effort can be devised by looking at the activity on the comment thread section. I haven't done the statistics for this, but just take a pick and see for your self what happens to pro-EOS comments on posts with a high comment rate from the list below.

I've seen in the past that the mods can act against brigading (Vchain) or even just spread warnings (Nano). They have shown to be able to act in order to maintain the subreddit a place of learning and discussion.
At the current situation, the subreddit which is the portal to the crypto world for many of us, is strongly biased, and does not serve its purpose. More than that, the crypto-community as a whole is affected, and instead of allowing constructive discussion, is suffering from the promotion of biased information.

Also you, as a community member, you can ask yourself, are you really helping the community downvoting and upvoting blindly, just because you don't like the name in the title? Shouldn't quality in content be promoted, instead of campaigning?

Maybe we can finish with the words of the mods of r/CryptoCurrency themselves:
"The attacks of shilling and FUD have harmed the cryptocurrency market as a whole. We’re far too quick to judge, and attack one another based on simply the holdings of our wallets. As a community, we’ve let ourselves be played by manipulators and we’ve allowed ourselves to forget that cryptocurrency is in its infancy still and not projects that can stand alone."
