The evolution of guns is no small thing as we have moved past the era of Dane guns to guns with the ability to use smart bullets to eliminate targets.
But are guns simply for killing? If so should we not focus more on disarming non force personnel rather than arming more people. There should be gun elimination laws instead of gun control laws.
During war periods, I stumbled upon an article where it was stressed that weapons which caused imminent death were prohibited on the battle field and I cant but wonder that if two countries go to war, will they be like "Hey we are here to wound each other but not mortally."
It sounds absurd when we think of shooting with the intent not to cause certain death and it's even more absurd to even shoot at all. When we take a look at our streets today, we discover that we have lost the war on gun control, what we need is something more aggressive, we need gun eradication laws.
My friend used to tease that back then, when gangsters and teenagers had a dispute, they used their knuckles like men and a few loose teeth here and some patches there and everything was all good, but now, you get into a disagreement and the next thing we hear is an obituary announcement.
I asked a question about a critical reason why guns were invented, they were invented to protect, to defend and to save, but it's used to protect personal interests, defend illegal activities and to save secrets six feet under.
There is this thrill to handling a gun as some experts believe, it automatically allocates this feeling of being in charge to you.
Before guns were invented, the sword was the main choice of weapon, when men had a dispute, they settled it by sword. One thing is clear, men have been killing each other long before guns were invented and the advent of guns just served like a wonder drug.
I also read somewhere that the bad thing about thing about gun handling is that it is owning one for certain people is never enough, there is this desire to use it and that is why at the slightest provocation, such people do not hesitate.
Have you ever noticed something synonymous to most terrorist videos? They are usually seen with guns as a show of superiority.
Of course guns serve a good purpose too if used for the right reasons, but then again, what is truly the right reason. Being right is somewhat subjective to the individual involved and even gun wielding terrorists will also have cause to believe that they are on their right.
I believe there is a spirit within guns that simply urges you to exert supremacy
That statement sounds like horseshit at first glance, but then let us analyze, to a cop, his gun gives him/her an assurance of safety over a criminal, to a criminal, the gun gives him/her a sense of dominance over the victim.
Let me do a quick history brush up. Do you know that some wars in the past were fought with the two armies facing each other and taking turns to shoot before engaging in full fledged war?
So what makes guns so special yet so dangerous? It's more of a psychological thing in my opinion, most things around us from movies even to simple real life conversations, they one way or the other make people believe having a gun is cool.
But then life is sacred and death is expensive considering the cost of ammunition, peace however is the best.
