SUPER STORY
The heavens tonight
Takes my breath away
From what is right
Then my mind will sway.
Ancient secrets of time,
hidden in the skies,
don't be fooled by them,
Almost all are lies.
The sky is dark and the sun is up
Then all shall hear from the mountain top
A lion gave birth,
to so called twins, so superstitious, the cause for mirth
That's the reason for the rain and sun
some might even say, it was a son.
Good day everyone, i was doing nothing, going about my business as usual. Then a voice in my head, told me. Hey man, you should write a poem.
Then i decided to write about the weather cause the weather was great today. But that voice told me to write about something else.
And i did.
DIVING DEEP
This poem is about the ancient times, and their highly superstitious beliefs, well I'm just gonna be talking about one instance, which i really thought was true while growing up, but like all olden superstition was a lie, or i think it is.
STANZA ONE
The heavens tonight
Takes my breath away
The beauty of the night sky is captivating (beautiful). Though it's not really night time, but it's as dark as that, cause the sky is pregnant with rain.
From what is right
Then my mind will sway.
Then the poet persona thought of something, a thing that has hunted him for a long time
Ancient secrets of time,
hidden in the skies
Well not really in the skies, that's just a metaphor, but the stories our ancestors told us, mostly about the sky.
don't be fooled by them,
Almost all are lies.
Truly they are lies. You'll see why i said this
STANZA TWO
The sky is dark and the sun is up
Then all shall hear from the mountain top
All Nigerians know this tale, if not all Africans, that when rain falls and the sun shines, something is happening.... Somewhere.
A lion gave birth,
to so called twins, so superstitious, the cause for mirth
Now this is the reason for the sun and rain coming together, or so they say. (a time for mirth) during this time some people start celebrating. Funny right, Africans.
That's the reason for the rain and sun
Like i said earlier the natives of Nigeria thinks that when a lioness gives birth to twins, the sun shines and rain falls
they might even say, it was a son.
Some natives might even predict the gender of the twins.
