When you want to travel fast, go alone but when you want to travel far, go together
African proverb
It seemed just like yesterday when was telling me about Steemit -a social media where I could make money with my articles. If not for my open mindedness, I would not have paid any attention because as I have said many times here, I had been part of some whack social platforms like empowr which only wasted my time and attention.
You can see my $3000 balance, yet I was still broke (haha). What kind of money is it that one can only be watched but not spent?
Well, thanks to God I am here and today marks exactly my 90 days on this platforms. And Gosh!!, what an amazing 90 days. It is not my first 90 days of story telling but story telling on Steemit is another level all together.
I have met wonderful people, made wonderful connections, inspired people, inspired by people, I've motivated people and got motivated by people and together we have been travelling this far. It has even become difficult to mention names because they will be inexhaustible.
The first person to have given me more courage to keep doing my best was :- such a wonderful guy, he got my article curried by
and that was the power with which I begun my journey and you can understand why I have come this far... I was told of how first articles make pennies on this platform but this made it different, after a week of blogging here, my article trended for days after it earned $130 payout and this was made possible by this wonderful dedicated young man. That aside, he left a comment that went straight to my heart and this is what every passionate writer wants more than anything else. I hope he sees this because he once told me he is also a human and not a robot ( haha)....
Then I met the guy who is officially my Steemit mentor now , he introduced me properly to the Ghanaian community and he discovered my talent of putting the alphabets together and within some few weeks I was one of the most noticed newbie in the Ghana community thanks to him...
has been an inspiration ever since.... He personally made sure I was part of the maiden Ghana Steemit meetup event which virtually changed my steem experience.
I remember the day he texted me asking about how he could make the meet up a success. I was dump founded, a newbie? and all this trust? later I realized he was just a man of the people, he is a true believer of a decentralized world and this has been an inspiration. Boss, I admire you and as I have told you many times, you are a great teacher.
I continued my journey and after a month, I decided to share my dating experiences as a story which was inspired by another wonderful guy and it was a bliss. I enjoyed how everyone was so interested in the next episode with him being one of the greatest fans with
,
and
.
One day something huge happened, visited and upvoted all my episodes to $30 dollar mark, I didn't know who she was but I was dumb founded. I had no idea then how I was to get in contact until one day when I saw her on a discord channel. I DM her and after introducing myself she was like yeah, I upvoted your articles because they show the cultural difference and I have not seen that on any of the Ghanaian articles I've seen so far. This made me feel good and for that
was able to make me fall more in love with my passion.
Around that same time I met another wonderful guy -the talking , this guy is full of love. He would give you ideas until you get saturated...
is full of life and he introduced me to
, a wonderful guy himself and I admire him for his saving the food project.....
Then I recently met , my interview with him is however still waiting to be published here as part of my learning through experiences series
Ever since it has been so wonderful but I can't ignore the influence of
,
,
and more
Then you remember my crush on a celebrity - because of her unflinching support for projects that are geared towards empowerment. Her generosity has been amazing and her
community has been growing because of her dedicated passion.
In the just ended month, I discovered weekly writing contests and decided to try my hand writing on it...when I wrote my first article I was just in for one STEEM because I wasn't very sure how it worked but in the end I was placed 6th and I decided to put in my best the next time and I had first place and lots of steem and ever since I have consistently been on the winning lists each week....This contest have attracted some small attention to my articles and I have gotten a little over 350 Steemians following my article....
has also been bae to me. I'm a fun person and I use to just go to dmania.lol to laugh out but one day I decided to also start creating memes and when I got an upvote worth of $60 I was wowed and I have been consistent on it recently, posting at least two times in a week on that platform
In the course of my 90 days, I also ran a Facebook promotion for D.tube and I had little over 4000 people reached and that was a great time. I made a utopian entry with that and even though it was not approved (because I had added a link to a whats-app group where I intended to sensitized them) I was still glad I had reached out.
This is a link to the post on Facebook
I also made a few amateurish tutorials on dtube over the course of my 90 days but the most important events has been my promotional works at the University for Development Studies -Tamale campus. Selling Steemit to these medical students has been wonderful and I am glad anytime I see someone who heard of Steemit because of my efforts.
My store also became the first store in Tamale to accept Steem and SBD. Even though not many people have used that service since, I am confident that as Steem gains more popularity it's just the matter of time before people start actively buying my fashion clothing with this currency... was one of the people who encouraged me to keep up with this...
That has been my journey for my first 3 months on this platform (90 days). Now I'm one of the writers for and it has been wonderful serving.
Unfortunately, the pressure of medical school has made me unable to put my all into this. You have to read tonnes of books and lecture notes as well attending lectures each day while still making time for Steem activities. This had made these 90 days so hard but still joyous.
As I write this, my exams starts on the 9th (this Friday) yet, I still had to commit hours into this before I could get back to my books, that is the sacrifice I have to make to be here and it is a choice.
would say, sacrifice your today for a non-sacrificial tomorrow. It is hectic but that is why not everyone can do it. To be above average one has to do more than the average person is willing to do....
If I get low grades in my exam, I can't give people the excuse that I was blogging on Steemit, nobody cares. People only want to see success and not excuses. So instead of sleeping for 10 hours, I have to cut to 6 hours and use the rest of the 18 hours to work my way to excel in my exams and still have something to be proud of on Steemit...Such is the life of a hustler and it is a choice...
Thanks for your attention and thanks for being a part of this wonderful journey. If you are a fan of my work, its been an honored serving you and I shall be here till till. God bless you and have a wonderful day!
But before I go, I'll plead for an honest review of my time here, if there is anything I can change to be better. Praises are also welcome, you can make me feel good as I study for my coming exam....bye
