Self Voting - To do or not to do? - That is the Question + Video

The consequences of self voting seems to be a hot topic of debate here on Steemit. Some agree full-heartedly that you should self-vote, and some sincerely disagree with self-voting completely.

I recently came across an article by Hive account@taskmaster4450 explaining (among other topics) how support projects with high SP, that do not self-vote, are making great strides for the platform, and how other whales that only self-vote are creating negative effects for our community (also re-steemed right below this article on my blog).

I, along with the founding members of Hive account@tribesteemup, have always lived by the philosophy that you should always up-vote your own personal content at 100%. We do this because we believe that your own content on Steemit should reflect that you support and believe in it 100%, if you do not, then why even publish it, and what are we doing? This only applies to personal, non-whale accounts of course. A recent lesson has taught me that whale accounts especially should not be up-voting their own content...or should they? I can tell you for certain that they should most definitely NOT be exclusively self-voting.

I have convinced several people to alter their Steemit habits for their benefit, through some of my recent articles, so I do not see why I cannot change some of mine as well, especially if it is to my and the platform's benefit. Starting with this article, I will not self-vote with my personal account as an experiment.

My 100% vote is only worth about $0.03 currently, with all the SP I have delegated out to projects. Despite this, I believe that the smallest things matter the most, so maybe if I lead with this example, others will follow, and could have a powerful impact for many people personally, and the Steemit platform as a whole.

I was also wondering where all the up-vote bots came from that I saw on some of my recent articles. Hive account@taskmaster4450's article I referenced above made me realize it was likely Hive account@fulltimegeek's bot brigade. So I also wanted to say THANK YOU Hive account@fulltimegeek for the recognition and support, it is greatly appreciated by myself and many others. Your project is quite a selfless one, and deserves much respect.
