The Suzuki method is the most widely used teaching method for learning to play the violin. It consists of several volumes, each of which introduces a new and increasingly complex technique for learning to play this beautiful instrument. It is taught in most violin courses, including the one I attended for a year, but before starting that course and with my previous violin, I had decided to learn the melodies from three volumes of this book on my own by watching YouTube videos to learn the technique and see how both hands move. That's when the algorithm recommended Jenny Yun's videos to me, and every time I learned a new melody, I watched her videos to hear how they sounded and see how the movements were done, even though I never learned them. I still had fun trying to play them, so I would like to share with you some of the melodies I like the most.
El mĂ©todo Suzuki es el mĂ©todo de enseñanza que más se usa a la hora de enseñar a tocar el violĂn, tiene varios volĂşmenes y cada uno de ellos tiene una nueva tĂ©cnica cada vez más compleja para aprender a tocar este hermoso instrumento. Lo enseñan en la mayorĂa de los cursos de violĂn, incluso al que yo asistĂ por un año, pero antes de comenzar ese curso y con mi anterior violĂn, me habĂa animado a aprender las melodĂas de 3 (tres) volĂşmenes de este libro por mi cuenta viendo videos de YouTube para aprender la tĂ©cnica y ver cĂłmo es el movimiento de ambas manos y fue ahĂ cuando el algoritmo me recomendĂł los videos de Jenny Yun y cada vez que aprendĂa una nueva melodĂa, miraba sus videos para escuchar como sonaban y como eran los movimientos, aunque nunca los aprendĂ. Igual me divertĂ tratando de interpretarlas, asĂ que me gustarĂa compartir con ustedes algunas de esas melodĂas que más me gustan.

During the course, we learned eight of the seventeen melodies featured in the first volume, and at the end-of-course presentation, I played Long Long Ago and shared it here, although that was quite some time ago now. These are my two favorites, which is why I chose to play that melody even though I got nervous and lost my place, having to guide myself by ear and missing some notes. I don't think anyone noticed, though.
I had already learned all the melodies in this volume before starting the course, so you could say I cheated a little, but that's when I really understood some of the many mistakes I was making by learning on my own. Here I emphasize the importance of having a tutor to guide and orient you because not all of us are capable of learning on our own. I've already ruled out that possibility and I definitely need someone to teach me, but for now I'm having fun and relaxing for a while playing with my violin and trying to get the best sound out of it.
En el curso llegamos a aprender 8 de las 17 melodĂas que trae el primer volumen y en la presentaciĂłn de fin de curso yo toque Long Long Ago y lo compartĂ por aquĂ, aunque ya pasĂł bastante tiempo de eso. Las que más me gustan son estas dos, por eso elegĂ tocar esa melodĂa a pesar de que me puse nerviosa y perdĂ las lĂneas guĂas, teniendo que guiarme por mi oĂdo y errándole a algunas notas, creo que nadie lo noto igual.
Yo ya me habĂa aprendido todas las melodĂas de este volumen antes de comenzar el curso, asĂ que se podrĂa decir que hice algo de trampa, pero fue ahĂ cuando realmente comprendĂ algunos de los tantos errores que cometĂa aprendiendo sola y aquĂ remarco la importancia de contar con un tutor que te guie y oriente porque no todos somos capaces de aprender de forma autodidactica, yo ya descarte esa posibilidad y necesito si o si a alguien que me enseñe, pero por mientras me divierto y me relajo un rato jugando con mi violĂn y tratando de sacarle el mejor sonido posible.

Going back to the beginning, I kept learning more and more melodies and tried to memorize their sound by watching Jenny's videos. She is truly majestic when playing the violin, as I mentioned in my previous post about Czardas.
In Suzuki Volume 2, the degree of difficulty of the technique was already becoming apparent. These two melodies are my favorites, and in fact, I recorded myself playing Musette when I bought my current violin to test the difference in sound compared to my other violin. I won't share the video here because at the time I had no idea where the notes were, so I played the song in a cheeky and disrespectful way towards the music because no one was listening to me and because I was just playing around. I didn't even respect the tempo, but if you want to see it and enjoy my out-of-tune melody, you can ask me and I'll send it to you in the comments... You have been warned!
Volviendo al inicio, yo seguĂa aprendiendo más y más melodĂas y trataba de memorizar el sonido de las mismas viendo los videos de Jenny que por cierto es majestuosa tocando el violĂn, ya la presente en mi anterior post con Czardas.
En el volumen 2 de Suzuki ya se empezaba a notar el grado de dificultad que iba tomando la tĂ©cnica, estas dos melodĂas son las que más me gustan y de hecho yo me grabe tocando Musette cuando compre mi actual violĂn para probar la diferencia de sonido con respecto al otro violĂn. No compartirĂ© el video por aquĂ porque en ese entonces no tenĂa ni la menor idea de donde se ubicaban las notas, asĂ que toque la canciĂłn de forma descarada e irrespetuosa hacia la mĂşsica porque nadie me estaba escuchando y porque simplemente estaba jugando, ni siquiera respete el tiempo, pero si quieres verlo y deleitarte con mi melodĂa desafinada, puedes pedĂrmelo y te lo pasarĂ© en los comentarios… ¡Están advertidos!

And these melodies belong to volume 3, where the melodies already feel more complete and therefore more complex, but since I tend to be very cheeky when no one is looking, I decided to learn them too, and that's where I stopped because it was really too difficult for me and it was obvious that I wasn't at the right level to play them yet, I was just being daring.
Although I no longer remember most of these melodies because I stopped practicing them a long time ago, except for those in volume 1, I had a lot of fun trying to learn them and looking for Jenny Yun's videos to understand her sound and technique. It was a great help, and I remember practicing every night with my old violin until I bought a new one, which is the one I'm currently using, and started the course, where I had to start from scratch because I was literally doing everything wrong.
There are many reasons why I haven't shared any videos of myself playing the violin yet. I say this because several people asked me when I would upload a video of myself playing. Well, that moment will have to wait, and maybe someday I'll share those reasons with you. For now, I'll leave you with a spoiler about one of them: You don't want to hear the squeaking of rats being killed!
Y estas melodĂas pertenecen al volumen 3 donde las melodĂas ya se sienten más completas y por ende más complejas, pero como a escondidas suelo ser muy descarada, me anime a aprenderlas tambiĂ©n y ahĂ puse un alto porque de verdad se me estaba dificultando demasiado y era obvio que yo todavĂa no estaba en un nivel adecuado para tocarlas, era solo de atrevida.
A pesar de que ya no recuerdo la gran mayorĂa de estas melodĂas porque hace tiempo que deje de practicarlas, salvo las del volumen 1, me divertĂ mucho tratando de aprenderlas y buscando los videos de Jenny Yun para comprender su sonido y tĂ©cnica, fue un gran apoyo y recuerdo que las practicaba todas las noches con mi anterior violĂn, hasta que compre uno nuevo que es el que estoy usando actualmente y comencĂ© el curso, donde tuve que empezar todo de 0 porque literal estaba haciendo todo mal.
Hay muchas razones por las cuales aĂşn no he compartido ningĂşn video mĂo tocando el violĂn, esto lo digo porque varios me preguntaron cuándo subirĂa un video tocándolo, bueno, ese momento tendrá que esperar y quizá algĂşn dĂa les comparta cuáles son esos motivos, por el momento les dejare un spoiler sobre uno de ellos: ¡No quieren escuchar un chirrido de ratas siendo asesinadas!
