Tony Yang, 楊伯翊 (Yáng•bó•yì), going by the stage name PaprTape (previously PaperTape), is a producer and musician who makes music in various genres that combine a range of traditional and contemporary production techniques.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tony started with the violin and piano at the age of 6. He traveled back and forth between the U.S. and Taiwan as a child, learning music with various teachers, and also studied with Khuillip Jeung from The Juilliard School.
As an artist and composer, PaprTape works with analog synths and tape machines to create warm ambient sounds and textures. His work has been showcased with major brands and artists including Burberry, Marshall Headphones, Philip Glass, Fung Bros and many more.
Here's a lovely track called Lyra, named after the synthesizer used in its creation. It's always great to see a work being created too, so enjoy the video...
