I’m happy to be here once again to share my thoughts on the topic discussed by Bro. Eli about the purpose of man on earth. The Holy Bible remains our standard, and as emphasized, God is a God of purpose. Everything He created—plants, animals, the seas, and the land—was made with intention. Plants and animals, for example, exist to sustain human life, as they were given to us for food. In the book of Genesis, God brought everything into existence and declared it good, knowing it would fulfill its purpose for mankind. In the same way, man was also created with a clear purpose.
Ephesians 2:10 helps us understand this truth: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has already prepared for us to walk in.” This shows that we are created to do good. It is therefore not surprising that all Jesus did while on earth was centered on doing good. Acts 10:38 confirms this, explaining how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, enabling Him to go about doing good and healing those who were oppressed. That was His mission.
Therefore, as humans, our purpose is to continually do good, just as God has ordained. Doing good includes worshipping God, building up the church with our spiritual gifts, helping others, and making the world a better place. We are not here by chance; we were intentionally created to glorify God. Whenever we act otherwise, we go against our purpose.
This message is important because it opens our understanding of why we exist. Our purpose goes beyond procreation; it includes living a life of goodness—doing what is right, pure, and worthy, as stated in Philippians 4:8. We must not live carelessly, knowing that we will one day give account to our Creator.
I pray that God will enlighten our hearts so we can recognize our purpose, fulfill it, and not misuse it, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you for reading.
