Cómo están todos? Yo bien con mucha flojera de ir para clases mañana pero por lo menos tuve toda la semana pasada libre porque estaban haciendo los recuperativos y la discusión de notas del segundo lapso que me fue bien gracias a Dios.
Bueno amigos hoy yo les vine a enseñar otra cosa que hice para mi cuarto para poner en la mesita de noche y es para poner mis lentes cuando voy a dormir.
Es como una mini bandeja de felpa donde poner los lentes que yo vi en una de las fotos que me enseñó mi mamá y que se veía bonita, pero la que yo vi era de cerámica, pero no me gusta así porque si se cae se rompe y yo soy un poquito desastrosa y como le dije a mi mamá que quería eso, ella me dijo que podía hacerlo con cartón y forrarlo entonces le dije que sí y buscamos por ahí una tela y encontramos esa que era una cobijita rosada de cuando yo era una bebé y quedó bien bonita.

Ahora el paso a paso
Lo primero fue hacer los moldes y esos me los marcó mi mamá en el cartón y mide 10 cm de ancho y 19.5 cm de largo y en las puntas es curvo y eso lo hacen con el transportador o con cualquier cosa que sea así curvita. Mi mamá me marcó dos porque el cartón era delgado y después yo los recorté.
Después lo que yo hice fue pegar esos dos cartones con el silicón para que quedara más gordito y más duro.
Ahora viene lo que va alrededor de eso que es una tira de cartón que mide 3 cm de ancho y hay que cortarla del tamaño del otro cartón porque hay que pegarlo por todo alrededor y como el cartón es duro y eso es curvo mi mamá me enseñó un truco que es enrollar esa tira de cartón y se pone suave y agarra bien la curva.
Después pegué esa tira con el silicón caliente y listo. Ahora hay que pegar la tela.
Lo que yo hice fue cortar una tira un poquito más ancha que la tira de cartón y de todo el largo de la cajita o de alrededor y lo fui pegando con la pistola de silicón y quedó tapada toda la orilla y después lo doblé para adentro y también lo pegué y también hice lo mismo por debajo.
Después para tapar lo de adentro y lo del lado de abajo que le faltó tela mi mamá me marcó dos rectángulos de curva más pequeños y corté la tela y se la pegué a los cartones y después metí uno adentro, que ese no lo pegué y el otro se lo puse abajo y listo, quedó bien bonita y es fino que sea de tela y acolchada porque ya mis lentes tienen unas marcas que se le hicieron con la repisa porque a veces no me doy cuenta cuando los pongo, pero ahora no se van a rayar más.
Eso es para ponerlo en la mesita de noche de mi cuarto nuevo, pero mientras tanto la voy a poner en la repisa que tiene mi cama.

How’s everyone doing? I’m fine, though I’m really not in the mood to go to class tomorrow. At least I had the whole of last week off because they were holding the resits and the second-term results discussion, which went well for me, thank goodness.
Well, friends, today I’ve come to show you something else I made for my bedroom to put on my bedside table – it’s for putting my glasses on when I go to sleep.
It’s like a mini felt tray for my glasses that I saw in one of the photos my mum showed me, and it looked lovely. The one I saw was made of ceramic, but I don’t like that because if it falls, it breaks, and I’m a bit of a klutz. So, when I told my mum I wanted one, she said I could make it out of cardboard and cover it, so I said yes, and we looked around for some fabric and found this little pink blanket from when I was a baby, and it turned out really pretty.

Now for the step-by-step guide
First, I made the templates; my mum marked them out for me on the cardboard. They’re 10 cm wide and 19.5 cm long, and the ends are curved – you can do this with a protractor or anything else that’s slightly curved. My mum marked out two for me because the cardboard was thin, and then I cut them out.
Then what I did was stick those two pieces of cardboard together with silicone so it would be thicker and sturdier.
Now comes the part that goes around it, which is a strip of cardboard 3 cm wide. You have to cut it to the size of the other piece of cardboard because you have to stick it all the way round, and as the cardboard is stiff and it’s curved, my mum taught me a trick: roll up that strip of cardboard and it becomes soft and follows the curve nicely.
Then I stuck that strip down with hot glue and that was it. Now it’s time to stick the fabric on.
What I did was cut a strip a little wider than the cardboard strip and the full length of the box or around it, and I stuck it down with the hot glue gun, covering the entire edge. Then I folded it inwards and stuck that down too, and I did the same underneath.
Then, to cover the inside and the bottom where there wasn’t enough fabric, my mum marked out two smaller curved rectangles for me, and I cut the fabric and stuck it to the cardboard. I then put one inside – I didn’t stick that one down – and placed the other one at the bottom, and that was it. It turned out really nice, and it’s great that it’s made of fabric and padded because my glasses already have some marks from the shelf – I sometimes don’t realise when I put them down – but now they won’t get scratched anymore.
I’m going to put that on the bedside table in my new bedroom, but in the meantime I’ll put it on the shelf by my bed.
