I've had a heart for business since I was little. Back then, we sold all kinds of food- kakanin, snacks, and even vegetables that my father planted in our backyard.
Now, I feel guilty for not being able to help my younger sister with her college expenses. I know exactly how it feels to be short on allowance and to lie awake worrying about the due dates every month.
That's why I decided to start a small business. I want to earn and help her, even if it's just in small ways.
If you're dreaming of a small business that helps family, just like I do for my sister, this blog might help you start.
I bought all the ingredients I needed at Gaisano Grand Mall- Kabankalan City branch. Prices there were cheaper compared to the store we usually order from, so I saved a bit more for my starting capital.
I didn't used all the ingredients because I bought too much. Honestly, I don't think this batch will sell out until next week. There aren't many people around here, so I expect it to last a bit longer than I planned.
Ingredients:
- Graham Crackers
- Cream-O Biscuit
- Angel Kremdensada- Sweet Thick Creamer
- Angel Condensada- Sweetened Condensed Creamer
- Angel All-Purpose Cream
- Eden Cheese
- White sugar
- Water
Procedure:
- First, I prepared all my ingredients.
- I ground the graham crackers and two packs of Cream-O biscuits. Then, set them aside in a bowl.
- In another bowl, I mixed Kremdensada, Condensada, and all purpose cream. I added a little water to loosen the texture.
- Next, I added sugar and the ground biscuits. I stirred everything until well combined.
- Lastly, I topped it with grated cheese for that sweet-salty kick.

Making this didn't take much time at all. It was easy, and I felt so proud seeing the finished product. I really love making things, especially food, because I'm a big foodie- I love eating good food that taste amazing.
My mother ended up packing the ice candy. She got frustrated watching me do it- my plastic twitching skills were a disaster- so I just let her handle it. Moms are really the best!
Tadaaaaaa! Everything is perfect! All done.
Pro tip: Before putting the ice candy in the freezer, I let it cool in the cooler first. This keeps the ice in the freezer from melting too fast.
I tested 5 pieces first. Guys, after just 2 hours in the freezer they were solid and ready to sell. So fast!
Let's believe in ourselves. It's doesn't matter if your business is small. What really matters is that you earn honestly everyday- even if it's just a few pesos- to help your family.
Always choose the right way to earn. It may be slow, but it's clean, legal, and you can sleep peacefully at night.
What truly scary isn't being poor. It's earning huge money the wrong way. I'd rather sell ice candy with a clear conscience than have millions with guilt.
Happy contented heart. Grateful soul. Sold out ice candy.
