In my many years experience as a photographer which have span across many niches, one of these is movie production. Working with different directors and producers in the industry, many of which are award winning and their works are outstanding.
Sometimes in 2016, we had a production(movie) with the Title UNSPEAKABLE, this was a huge project as it featured many superstars in the movies industry. Moving from one location to the other and running through number of days.
In one of the locations where we have been privileged to have been offered an entire building to be used for our shoot in one of the most attractive area in the city of Abuja.
Jayne is a member of the household where we shoot, a fresh graduate waiting for her service call up. While shoot, we’ve had a terrible situation at hand where where one of the cast had missed appearing due to circumstances beyond her control and it was exactly the time for her scene to be shot. And of course, Gaffer, DoP and all members of the have finished setting up waiting to roll. Directors look worried, Producers not having like a tea cup, how do we come back in probably some months later, how are we sure this will be available for us when the time comes.
I’ve been chatting with Jayne as we’ve been coming around so we’ve new friends and there we were having our regular conversation by the side and she noticed everybody not looking cheer up, luckily, the director happened to be her cousin and had come join us where we were and we just talking about the situation at hand. And Jayne just interrupted, I CAN DO IT, I CAN PLAY THE ROLE. What?
Do you think we’re playing comedy video here? the director asked. No I mean the role you just mentioned, I can act it very well. The matter became more serious when producer who is also related to Jayne’s mum heard our conversation how serious she was. We are talking about scrip here, what’s are you saying. But luckily for us, it wasn’t a pre-appeared scene so it’s an easy job for continuity and script roll with.
Long story short, Jayne was key in, given script, taken through the lines and boom, she killed it. What! Did you just do that? I was super impressed.
