I have bought a lot of wines lately. The reason is because I have been traveling outside of Norway, so I got the oportunity to save some money on wine the Duty-free shop. Maybe around 50 kr (5,53 USD) per wine bottle. I didn't buy as much wine as possible, because the selection of wine was kind of poor.
I didn't find any wines that excited me much. Not even the Barolos they had was that good. So I chose to go "safe" and buy some white wines. Two of them wasn't in the Norwegian liqure stores but got a great rating on my Vivino app. I didn't have much time on the airport, meaning I couldn't do a long research about the wines on the Duty-free shop, but I think I didn't chose any bad ones.
But this is all the wines I bought latley:
La Perroere - Sancerre Blanc 2019
This is a French wine from Sancerre. It's tastes like citrus, lime and grapefruit, but also green apple, peach, pear and minerals and stone. It have a high acidity, but is very dry. It's rated at 4.0 at Vivino. The taste profile is just how I like it.
Kendall-Jackson - Vitner´s Reserve Chardonnay 2019
This wine is from California, and it's also rated at 4.0 in the Vivino App. I haven't tastes so much wine from California, but I really want to try out more wine from Cali. I am going on a roadtrip in California in 2023, and I will definitely will try out as much wine as possible from the district. This wines taste profile is: butter, oak, vanilla, pear, apple and peach, but also a tropical taste, pineapple and mango. I LOVE tropical taste, I am really excited for this one. It's also a bold wine.
Domäne Wachau - Grüner Vetliner Smaragd Terrassen 2020
I did actually drink this wine last weekend. It was sooo exciting and new for me. Australian wine is unusual for me to drink. I can't remember that I have drank white wine that tasted like flintstone or pepper. Mixed with citrus and apple. It was fresh and did taste good. But since it was so unusual for me, I gave it a medium rating. It actually tasted better the day after, so I recommend to air it well.
Robert Well - Up in the air Riesling Trocken 2020
This wine is also rated at 4.0 on my Vivino App. I couldn't find it at our local liquor store, and I think the "Up in the air" is a limited edition or its only sold at air ports. It tastes like citrus, lemon, lime, but also apple, peach, minerals, honey and a little bit stone. The wine is very acidic too, but also dry. I actually googled this wine, and it's actually highly recommended from wine entusiasts.
Before we left for Copenhagen there was a new wine release on our local liquor store.
I saw that my favorite producer had a new wine that I really wanted to try out. And at the same time I took the decision to buy myself a champagne for my birthday (in October, haha). I chose to do it now, so I had something exciting to look forward to when I'm turning 30 years old. I don't buy expensive champagne, and I usually never buy wines that costs a lot. But I want to drink something nicer on my birthday!
This is what I bought before I went to Copenhagen:
Kruger Rumpf - Riesling Brut
If you have read some of my wine reviews and my earlier buys, you have definitely seen Kruger Rumpf a lot of times. This is my all time favorite producer, and it was so fun to see a new SPARKLING wine from hin on the market. I think I have to open it on a nice occasion too.
Michael Turgy - Millesime 2014, Champagne
I wanted a nice champagne for my birthday. I have tried some different kinds of Moet & Chandon when I was younger, and Dom Perignon is to way expensive for what I want to spend on a Champagne. Therefor did I buy myself a Turgy. A nice price for a Champagne that I have got recommended from almost everywhere. I'm looking forward to drink it!
