The state of Washington is facing a lawsuit for ignoring the multiple reports of the torturing, beating and sexual abuse performed on three siblings within a foster home.
Due to the nature of this particular case, names have not been released but have been included as abbreviations. I can only suspect it is a privacy desire from the victims until the case is brough before a judge. . It isn't exactly clear yet when these actions were done, but reports indicate that the abuse happened in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The foster home in which the siblings were placed in was appointed by Washington Department of Social and Health Services
The meat and potatoes of this case, as indiated in the lawsuit states:
Despite a number of referrals, complaints, and reports to DSHS indicative of abuse and neglect, including specific disclosures by the siblings indicating that abuse was taking place, DSHS failed to investigate in most instances, and when an investigation did occur, DSHS failed to do so with ordinary and reasonable care.
We have seen this as all to common as more and more former foster children and former employees step into the light and fight against the system that has failed us all...especially the children.
