Having entered two Pixel Art Weekly's it got noticed I was using a made-up PAW logo. 
In the short time here I've already noticed it's all about the community and what beter way to give something back to it.
This therefore, I am proud to say, will be the new post-header.
And I'll do you one better. I am going to walk through the process of making something like this. I hope you'll like it
first I start out by sketching random shapes. Get my thoughts out on canvas, see where my mind wants to lead me. It lead me to this shape, which reminded me of a zombie for some reason.
Then I just start laying down some colors, adding more characters in the mix. Also adding some front/back colors to define depth.
Time to shade the newcomers as well and tweak overall colors and shading, finding a color-palette that works.
Enter the BUB (Big Ugly Bastard). Also notice the change of the creepy crawler. the head is much improved. In between stages I often revisit something that just doesn't feel right.
That has GOT to hurt ...

Time to add some further shading and highlighting to make things POP
Ahah ... here comes our Hero, our MVP! swiiiiiiiiiing Let's focus on this part.
Of course, our hero is due for some tweaking and shading as well.
Time to spruce up the place. Some zombie movies/games/series references. Our previous band of undead return as well. and I changed BUBs head. It just makes more sense that it turns this way from the direction of the force.
After that, we need to set the scene. The characters are really alive at this point, but where is all of this taking place ?
The city scene wasn't working for me. Back to the drawing board with a sketch for a most epic tree.
Moar progress. The scene is developing well. We might even have a story going on. Our hero is fighting his way to The Winchester.
OR IS HE !!
Obviously there are a lot more steps in between of trial and error, what works, what doesn't. reshape, reshape again.
But posting all steps might've turned you into one of the characters in this scene.
