Thought of just uploading my practice session for the song How Far I'll Go popularized by Auli'i Cravalho.
Whenever there's an event I have to sing at, I still feel nervous preparing.
It's been 30 years since I started singing and nothing's changed.
Controlling the adrenaline rush and nervousness has always taken so much effort from me.
Performing in public is like you also have to have the passion to perform, same as a passion for singing.
When we talk about passion, we prepare, we practice; and so, I really wished I always had at least 2 months of practice before any performance in public.
Singing anytime (especially with Karaoke) is not so hard for me, but to perform for an audience without the lyrics, without a chair to sit on, even though its a small group watching, it gives me so much to be worried about.
I was raised to sing for the audience without Karaoke and nowadays you're asked to sing at parties and clubs, even at programs with a screen infront.
It's so confusing.
I'm glad I have friends here on #DTube and on #Hive who love #Music #Singing #Performing.
Even happier and feeling inspired after reading post on "Changes on Music Community"
Aside from my love to sing, I also give singing lessons to young singers and it is important to encourage them to memorize their lyrics. To practice, practice, practice the right way.
To sing without the karaoke or lyrics copy truly connects you more with what you are doing, thinking, and feeling. Knowing the words by heart, allows you to connect more with your audience.
Even in recording, you really have to have memorized the full song before the recording session so that you can focus more on how you want to be listened to.
In my practice, I'm hoping at the party I will be able to sing and touch hearts.
I'd appreciate it so much if you had any comments and/or tips for this preparation which is actually for Sunday evening June 12.
I'm preparing 2 songs (just incase).
How Far I'll Go and Let It Go for my godfather's daughter's 7th Birthday.
See you all again really soon.
Thanks for being here.
