My friend Juan () and I touched down in Montreal, Canada a couple of days ago for a long weekend of delicious food, good music, and lots of sightseeing. This is our third time back to Montreal and the city never disappoints.
Travel very often pushes us out of our comfort zones and tests our problem solving abilities. This trip has been no exception. Our first morning here the entire Old Port region of Montreal woke up without power. We learned later there was a huge gas leak so power was shut off for five square miles as a precaution and our Airbnb happened to be right in the middle of it all.
Luckily, we found a small cafe near the Notre-Dame Basilica that had a generator so we were able to have a nice breakfast and a warm cup of coffee before the crowds discovered it was the only restaurant open for miles around. I hope you enjoy this slideshow of pictures from our first day.
Thanks for reading,
Eric
