I bought this coloring book a few years ago. I saw these everywhere, everyone was coloring and posting photos on every social media platform, so I thought it will be a good idea to buy one.
According to specialists, coloring is a good idea and has some benefits.
Top 7 benefits of coloring for adults:
- Your brain experiences relief by entering a meditative state
- Stress and anxiety levels have the potential to be lowered
- Negative thoughts are expelled as you take in positivity
- Focusing on the present helps you achieve mindfulness
- Unplugging from technology promotes creation over consumption
- Coloring can be done by anyone, not just artists or creative types
- It’s a hobby that can be taken with you wherever you go

I don't know about others, maybe they are using this to manage stress levels and anxiety. My goal was totally different. I thought it can help me organize my thoughts better and think about solutions while coloring.
The book has 63 pages to color, I am sharing it with my niece and I guess we did four or five in total, I almost can't even remember which is mine.
I bought the book before I started to learn to draw. Back then I had no alternative, I knew I can't draw so this looked like a good idea.
Then I registered to Steem, saw a few drawing competitions and started to draw.
At the beginning it was just for fun, to be able to enter a contest or two. I knew I can't win anything as there were some really good artists here, always winning.
Then I thought I should try to learn some basics, maybe draw simple things.
About three years ago I met a guy on another platform who had some amazing drawings. I'm always admiring those who are talented and can draw or paint. He was one of them. I remember once he posted and apple, a colored drawing, a very good one. I congratulated him and he said anyone can learn to draw, it took him three years. Needless to say how surprised I was.
After starting learning to draw something had changed. I'm not saying anyone can learn to be a successful artist but I believe with a lot of practice you can achieve something.
Now the book is laying on the shelf, maybe I should sell it or practice to draw flowers and leaves from it.
I'm not sad about not using the book, on the contrary, I'm happy I can do more, I can draw things myself even if these are not complex drawings. Maybe this book has helped me to start drawing.
Do anyone here have a similar coloring book?
