Today is the 1st day of November and the outside temperature is around 16°C midday. You can go out in a T-shirt without any problems.
Mornings are chilly as sometimes the temperature can drop below zero, but during the day we still enjoy what we call old ladies summer, which in English translates to Indian summer or golden summer.
It is different every year and no one knows for how long it's going to last of if it's going to take place at all. There were years when autumn was just a couple of weeks, then we got cold, gloomy days and rain.
This year is different as the Indian summer is longer than usual, of it's just me as I'm enjoying it as much as I can, making the most of it.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and it seems we're not far. Today while I was enjoying the sun on my balcony, could not neglect to notice how the dry leaves were falling down the ground. It's a special sound that you can only hear if it's quiet and the wind made sure to get as many leaves off the trees as possible.
With these chilly mornings, leaves won't last long. The ivy is already gone. What was a nice colorful leaf waterfall, it is now a naked bunch of branches. Quite sad.
This is a special place for me because as a photographer, it's always useful for me.
Autumn is beautiful here as the place is full of colorful trees, that create a colorful leaf carpet. Then later when the golden summer is over, if I'm lucky, we get a couple of foggy days.
Nature has an interesting way to deal with these leaves. We're considering it waste and in most of the places leaves are collected and dumped in the garbage. Nature has a different way. If left on the ground, usually it is covered by snow and becomes compost during the winter months. Compost is the best organic nutrient by the way.
Asphalt in the city doesn't need compost, does it?
My next target is frost and fog. I don't know which one is going to come first, I suppose fog and I hope we can get for this year as well. Not because I like it, but because it's fun to take foggy photos. It has become an obsession for me already. Maybe one day i can go to a place where fog is not a rarity and have fun with my camera for a week or so. Otherwise I hate fog.
