Yes, today I'd like to write about X or ex-twitter, which is working like a magnet, attracting people like any other place where rumor has it that there's money to be made. Acid has a post about the topic not long ago, about someone who left Hive and joined X, hoping to earn more there.
As I've mentioned before, I'm using the platform because of the news I can get there, content related to trading and markets and I'm also sharing my charts there as I don't know a better place to share technical analysis. It helps me a lot and it keeps me focused as well, because this is a brutal area, accountability is much higher than on other areas. For now, getting my account monetized is not a priority, but I'd like to grow it slowly, organically obviously.

To participate in their revenue sharing program, they have a set of rules, which, compared to other platforms, is not much at first glance as you only have to meet three requirements, but as nothing is as easy as it seems, this isn't either.
Getting verified by subscribing to Premium is easy, you pay, follow the instructions and it's done. Getting 500 Premium followers and having at least 5M impressions on your posts within the last 3 months is not as easy though.
Some time ago I saw a post about the user getting their account monetized and today I went to check their content out as well as check how they are doing. Not because I want to copy what they're doing or get inspired by their action (oh God, no, I would never sink to that level), just out of curiosity. As suspected, things are not looking good for them, but knowing their behavior, I saw what I suspected I'll be seeing.

Knowing the user's background, it wasn't a surprise to see they are doing what they are doing on Hive, which is sharing their opinion on different matters. Is this a bad thing? Nope, not at all. Is it enough to get other people's attention? Nope, not at all.
Just like in any other area, you need to do your research, in order to succeed. Hive is a small place, active users are not so many and if you're active, provide decent content and engage as well, you can build your followers and get support too. You can share your opinion on anything and everything, you can show off with your theories, no matter how crazy they seem or how full of yourself it makes you look. That's not a problem on Hive, but X is a different platform with different userbase and taste.
You can share your opinion there too, no matter how stupid is it, but no one gives a 💩, unless you're a well known person with influence and sharing your opinion on a matter that can bring some benefits to many. People are mostly looking for information that can benefit them, make them money if possible and give them an advantage in certain areas. Sharing videos about stupid people doing stupid things can take you so far.

"Building your account organically" is a concept they don't really understand, or should I say they try to bypass it by cutting corners and choosing shortcuts. Unfortunately getting 20 - 30 likes and 100 views on X won't take you far as likes don't count when it comes to earning. Asking your friends to like your posts, follow for follow and vote for vote is not going to give you what you need to earn. Congrats to them for giving it a try though, but I also feel sorry for them as at some point they have to face reality and it's going to hurt.
The sad thing here is when you see some people can't see further than their nose and their ego is totally blinding them. 5M impression in 3 months means 55k impressions per day and trust me, that's a lot. I can get 3k - 4k on a single post and between 40 - 50 likes (that don't count by the way), with only knowing 2 or 3 of my followers and they only vote on some of my posts, I have 175k impressions for the past 3 months and I only started posting a month ago or so, but that can change.

Unlike the person in acid's post, my subject has not left Hive, they are posting on both platforms, but less on X as I think reality has already kicked in. In this case I think their country of origin and upbringing plays a role too. Confusing the world with your small village life is a fatal mistake. What works there may not be interesting in the big world anymore.
What is sad here is to see them fail because they refuse to see reality. Congrats for trying, but when your goal is to make money, your only chance is to adapt. Learn some skills, share something people are looking for and you're gold. Thinking you know everything and you're better than anyone else is the fastest road to nowhere and stats are going to prove it.
I'm happy I finally have a place where I can share TA, but other than TA, I'm not interested in sharing on X. There are other ways to make money, 10x easier as well.
I'm curious for how long they are going to resist. I know the answer, but let's get the proof as well.
