President Trump declared the opioid crisis a national public health emergency, and recognized that last year alone, more Americans died to opioids (64,070 -- up 21% from 2015), than there were US military casualities in the entirety of the 19.5 year Vietnam War (58,200).
It’s serious.
So, in a serious-looking gesture, President Trump assembled a serious-sounding “Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis.”
This Commission’s claimed mission is: “to study the scope and effectiveness of the Federal response to drug addiction and the opioid crisis and to make recommendations to the President for improving that response.” How can that Commission’s claim be true, when:
(1) CANNABIS has yet to be acknowledged as the positive and documented influence that it is, in DECREASING opiate-related deaths; and
(2) BIG PHARMA has yet to be acknowledged as the original and encouraged source that it is, in INCREASING opiate-related deaths.
In light of the above-stated facts, and their supporting links, HOW is the sustained federal prohibition against marijuana NOT Gross Criminal Negligence, according to this definition from Black’s Law Dictionary:
"an act of omission or commission where a person demonstrates the wilful disregard to the rights of other people that results in possible or actual harm."
The degree of culpability is determined by applying a reasonable person standard. Criminal negligence becomes "gross" when the failure to foresee involves a "wanton disregard for human life."
Trump’s wanton disregard for human life is cringe-worthy.
But there is little money to be made in peace, and health. War, disease and enslavement are the economic engines favored by those who forcefully lead.
THIS IS WHY LIVING WELL, AND BEING JOYFUL, IS REVOLUTIONARY.
To make matters much worse, this well-funded Commission is Chaired by Governor Chris Christie. Please get this frightening math:
Governor Christie + Attorney General Jeff Sessions =
... an alarmingly uninformed duo, who both have it in for cannabis.
Two presidentially-empowered haters of cannabis
are now fueled + funded to carry out a predatory hunt against
the one thing that has proven simultaneously effective
against opioid addiction, and pain management.
The wrongfulness here is so bad, it's actually LAYERED.
President Trump has already allocated or directly spent more than $1 billion in funding
to inadequately address the opioid crisis. According to a White House communication,
these costs have reportedly been spread and distributed for:
🕳 Prevention;
🕳 Treatment;
🕳 First responders;
🕳 Prescription drug monitoring programs;
🕳 Recovery and other care in communities;
🕳 Inpatient settings;
🕳 Correctional systems; and
🕳 Additional law enforcement, for “high-risk communities.”
You'd think this misguided financial hemorrhaging is bad enough, but there’s more… like this appalling intent:
The Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, National Institutes of Health, and Department of Health and Human Services are collaborating on a six-year, $81 million joint research partnership focusing on nondrug approaches to managing pain in order to address the needs of service members and veterans.
The mismanagement of funds, and blatant dismissal of a viable,
natural solution is unforgivable. Tax money, STOLEN from citizens,
then THROWN at multiple agencies to:
👎🏽 chase their tails, and research a second-best synthetic formula, patent it, and sell it for great profit;
👎🏽 ratchet-up their fire-power and “reasonable causes” for invasions of privacy; and, of course,
👎🏽 keep the Industrial Prison Complex well fed.
Do you see the painful irony?
The CURE for this national health crisis is set-up to be hunted, like never before,
as the two men who can bring the greatest harm to cannabis legalization,
are empowered to do just that.
It’s morally irresponsible to continue to allow cannabis and hemp
to be treated as a Schedule 1 illicit substance of the highest order.
It was DEVIOUSLY added to the Schedule, and has LAZILY remained
uncorrected for 80 years. Studies show that patients
PREFER cannabis over opiates. We are not indecisive, or in the dark.
And now, with Sessions and Christie, Trump has manned-up
to go after cannabis, in the name of sanitizing drug addiction.
All crusades sound and start the same. This one is no different.
If you’re sick and tired of this wasteful, murderous ignorance,
please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Thanks.
