Went out on a warm Sunday late afternoon with a simple goal: a steady 9 km run around the Ljubljana countryside. What started as a relaxed easy run quickly turned into something more — the legs found their rhythm, the pace kept dropping, and by the end I was holding a sub-5:50/km effort.
The loop took me through Črnuče, Jeza, and Nadgorica, picking up the Štajerska cesta stretch where the evening sun made everything feel a little bit faster. Two traffic light stops, and a one-minute walk break every 15 minutes kept the body fresh. No one was chasing, but the pace marker was silently pushing.
Felt great from the first step to the last. The weather was perfect — 24°C, 27% humidity, light SW breeze at 11 km/h. Legs were responsive, breathing was smooth, and the average pace of 5'48"/km was a nice surprise for a run that started as an easy Sunday jog.
