The bridge of Lomonosov through the Fontanka in St. Petersburg - in my opinion, a very beautiful bridge. The photo was taken in the clear evening last August.
The bridge appeared here at the end of the 19th century, it was wooden and was called Catherine's bridge in honor of Catherine II.
Now it is the center of the city, but then it was the outskirts, here was the country estate of Count Chernyshev. Therefore, the bridge after the capital reconstruction was named Chernyshev. With this name, it existed for quite a long time. And since then it has kept its appearance with four massive towers. Several times there were attempts to rebuild it, to expand the roadway. But each time something was in the way. Personally, I'm glad of that. I like this bridge in this form.
In 1948, the bridge was renamed the Lomonosov Bridge.
Мост Ломоносова через Фонтанку в Санкт Петербурге – на мой, взгляд, очень красивый мост. И днём и ночью. Фотография сделана ясным вечером в прошлом августе.
Мост здесь появился в конце XIX века, был деревянным и в чсеть Екатерины II назывался екатерининский.
Сейчас это центр города, но тогда это была окраина, здесь находилась загородная усадьба графа Чернышева. Поэтому мост после капитальной перестройки получил назвние Чернышёв. С этим названием он и существовал довольно долгое время. И с тех пор сохранил свой вид с четырьмя массивными башнями. Несколько раз были попытки перестроить его, расширить проезжую часть. Но каждый раз что-то мешало. Лично я этому рада. Мне нравится этот мост в таком виде.
В 1948 году мост переименовали в мост Ломоносова.
