Greetings to the Steemians fans of this page. It has been a long period of silence from this end. Perhaps some of you who used to visiting this from afar, whom I don't belong to the same community with, might have been wondering: 'what's up with ?'; 'why hasn't his page being updated?'.
is fine. Just that sometimes, things happen and one has to sit up in order not to continue in the wrong direction.
To those who sent me personal messages, commending my efforts in bringing recent research Breakthroughs to the fore for the benefits of all, while seeking to know when the next publication would be made, I am excited to know that there are some people who have bookmarked this page. Last few days has been been quite eventful for me. And I had learned quite some great lessons. And these significant lessons that I had learned would be infused into my future research related articles.
Now unto the business of the day, while I was inactive, I was opportuned to attend mentorship session held by leaders of #bluewavesproject and
. And in that class I learnt a lot on how to leave a comment on blog pages in such a way that anyone who reads it would be tempted to check out your blog. This I learnt particularly from
. I also learnt from
the best way to approach Steemit in order to ensure you grow with your immediate community. I consider these the best advices I had received ever since I joined this program. Because I found these advices useful, I trust you too would certainly find it very beneficial. Thus explains why I have decided to post about it in my today's blog post.
The Format Of A Catchy Comment
One of the basic principles on which Steemit is built upon is competition for attention; for fame. You must seek to be known and recognized before you start seeing the rewards. However, there are positive and negative recognition. If you are recognized negatively, you will surely regret being here as you will be frustrated out of the program. Positive recognition is the major fulcrum on which success is built in this program.
One of the tools, according to , to attract attention to your blog is qualitative comment as against quantitative comment. As a newbie who is relatively unknown, engaging in aggressive, objective commenting is far more moneymaking than making blog posts that would earn less than one dollar, and end up demoralizing you. This is the most common mistakes a great number of newbies make. Steemit is not a get rich quick scheme; you must build your base, your foundation before hoping to earn any significant amount.
Another mistake newbies make in trying to attract attention is making quantitative comment. They would want to cover as many dolphin and whale pages as possible. Through such inordinate ambition, they are caught trolling about and sometimes severely dealt with. Of course, you don't try such rubbish on the blogs of and
and get away unscathed. While I am not aware of other but these two in particular don't give room for such crooked way of seeking attention. So you must be careful not to incur the wrath of powers that be. And see yourself at zero level.
*Attributes Of A typical Qualitative Comment
NB: whatever that would be discussed here is not meant to discredit other styles of comment, but to discuss and pass knowledge with respect to a comment Style I find more revealing.*
A qualitative comment has some attributes that make them elicit interest. These includes:
- Salutation: once you click the reply button to comment on a post, call the attention of the author by writing; 'Hello
's username'. For example: 'Hello
, Hello
, Hi
, etc. By so doing, you have already recognized them by way of calling their attention. And then allow a paragraph line before pouring out your opinion.
An example of ideal comment by
- Contextual body: here is where you carry out an objective analysis of the author's thesis and either agree with the author or disagree with him, all with valid reasons.
Even if the article is long and you cannot endure reading it all, you can quote a paragraph and analyze it. And take a position; for or against. The author will be happy that you actually read his work and may reward you. Others visiting the author's page may reward you as well. Or even follow you. Check out style of commenting. Also
. These two are among great commenters I know of.
would rather upvote and leave without commenting at all than making meaningless comment.

too.
- Commenter's signature: After writing the body, endeavor to leave your username at end. You can take a clue from the screenshot image above.
Avoid Short Comments
As I had said earlier on, sometimes in order to cover as much higher blog pages as possible, newbies are caught in the act of trolling. This is bad. Leaving very short and meaningful comments are highly frown at in the community. It is better not to comment at all; just upvote and leave than writing 'Nice post', 'good work,' awesome ', etc
Some people may not take this lightly. Even if it's two comments you are able to write in a day, ensure they are of high quality. This is important.
I will have to stop here, I will be revealing what I learned from in my next post. Ensure you are in tune with this page. Thanks for reading and I trust you are able to learn one or two things here.
