Merry Xmas my friends and associates. Even as busy as I am being held up by festivities of the season, each and every newbie out there is my concern. As such, I have to hastily put this piece together, hoping that it would help someone out there who's about to lose focus and direction regain strength and courage to keep pushing.
You are a niewbie out there considering to call it a quit here...maybe for the past one week or even two week, no fly has crossed your blog...I perfectly understand your state of despondency. And I am ready to tell you the truth because it is only the truth that can get you back on track. I deeply believe that if you decide to diligently follow the recipes I am going to leave here, for sure, that gap between you and your desired steemit destination will have been abridged even before you start. This is my promise.
Success is never given; it is taken...and taking it isn't as easy as it seems*
There is never anywhere in this whole wide world where success is given. It can only be taken based on decisions. If you decide to take it, you take it! And it's not always easy taking it; you have to work on it diligently and consistently.
Whatever that's associated with money has value and attracts attention and therefore competition. This is synonymous with steemit.com. The first time I read about Steemit, I knew it was not going to be that easy but I was prepared to do whatever that's necessary to make a headway. True; I have not gotten to my desired destination but my performances so far isn't that bad. Who has even gotten to his destination in life?.
You have to appreciate the fact that success is not easily taken so that you will be able to make the requisite sacrifices to break even.
The result you get is a mirror image of the amount of your engagement in the community.
A lot of newbies come to me every now and then to complain that many of those they have been curating and commenting on their posts hardly reciprocate, with some even threatening to stop visiting such blogs. And I would laugh at such threats. Why? Because I know they do not have a good grasp of what steemit is all about or how things work here.
Do you fall within the category of these set of people? Are you considering unfollowing someone who's ranked higher than you? If so, that would be the beginning of your failure.
Engagement in Steemit isn't 100% defined by reciprocity, more especially when two persons cannot be said to belong to the same caste of rank. The popular guys have enormous responsibilities to meet daily. So they may not have been taking cognizance of each and everyone who visits their blog. You certainly do not expect someone like to return visit each time you visit his blog. Nor would you expect
or their likes to do same. By the time they are through with their daily steemit-inspired errands, they will have been been ready to retire on their bedroom.
However, this shouldn't dampen your resolve to keep engaging them and anyone else who you see around. Because, it is only this way...more especially through commenting that you would be able to endear yourself to them.
The truth remains the level of your success here is a measure of your contributions to the community. If you desperately desire recognition, get dirty...roll up your sleeves and get down to work.
This is my Xmas Message to the newbies...cheers
