All of Kelly Agnew's results were canceled, since he used the same strategy for several years.
The organizers of the Across the Years ultramarathon in Arizona (USA) disqualified runner Kelly Agnew for having cheated to win several editions of the competition, reports the portal Marathon Investigation.
Agnew's strategy was to return to the starting line after some of the laps, hide for a few minutes in the toilets and then exit and cross the finish line as if a new lap had been completed, thus reducing the distance by one kilometer and a half.
The deception was noticed by one of the judges. "When Kelly finished the lap, he stopped after crossing the finish line. He stared at the monitor and then went to the bathroom. Kelly spent seven minutes in the restrooms, then went out and crossed the finish line again, counting a lap he had never made, "said the witness.
After the incident, Agnew was suspended for life from the competitions, and all his previous results were canceled.
