Yes, you read that right from the title. The former student who once simply dreamed in life is now a teacher!
I still remember the bio I used on this account: “A student who’s trying her best.” That bio stayed with me for several years. I created this account back in May 2022, and from the very beginning, that was what I chose to represent myself. Now, after more than three years, I have finally updated it to: “LPT.” Yes, I am now a Licensed Professional Teacher.
Before I continue sharing my journey—from being a student striving hard to becoming a teacher—I would first like to greet all of you. Hello everyone, how have you been? It has been a while since I last visited this platform because I’ve been busy with life. I truly missed writing here and reading your posts. Although I would occasionally visit and read some blogs, I never had enough time to write again.
Now, I finally have the chance. I am currently on a one-month vacation from teaching, starting May 1 until May 31. Even though it is not yet May, I no longer have many tasks at school. I have already submitted all my requirements and completed my clearance, so I decided to return to writing.
To be honest, I’ve had free time since last week, but I got carried away watching different K-dramas online. After spending long hours watching, I started experiencing headaches and eye strain, which made me realize I needed to slow down. That’s why I decided to come back here—to make my time more meaningful.
Anyway, let’s go back to my main story. Yes, I am now a teacher!
I finished my studies and graduated in October 2023. Even before graduating, I was already looking for a job because I wanted to start reviewing for the Board Exam as soon as possible. During that time, it was difficult to find a job related to my course because of the number of competitors. However, I did not give up. Instead of limiting myself, I applied to different companies even if they were not aligned with my field.
I was hired as a staff member in a casual food establishment. While working, I continued pursuing my goal of reviewing for the board exam. I enrolled in a review center near our area and managed both work and review at the same time. That’s how determined I was to achieve my dreams.
It was exhausting—physically, mentally and even financially. I wasn’t just supporting my own needs for review; I was also helping with our household expenses. Despite all the challenges, I never gave up. I knew that everything I was doing was for my dreams, and I believed that one day, all my sacrifices would bear fruit.
Fast forward to May 2024—one of the happiest moments of my life. All my sleepless nights and hard work finally paid off. I passed the board exam! I was deeply grateful to God and to all the people who supported me along the way.
In June 2024, I attended my oath-taking ceremony—another unforgettable milestone, as I was officially recognized as a full-fledged teacher. Then in August 2024, I finally received my license. It was one of the most satisfying moments of my life—to see and hold the result of all my hard work.
However, that wasn’t the end of the journey. I thought that having a license would make it easy to find a job—but I was wrong. The competition was still intense. There were times when I felt discouraged and lost hope, but I never lost my faith in God.
Finally, in June 2025, I was hired by a private school in our province. My heart was filled with joy and gratitude because, at last, my prayers were answered. I had applied to many schools—too many to count—so when I finally received a call and got accepted, I was truly overjoyed.
My first year of teaching has been a happy and meaningful experience. I encountered many “firsts” in this school since it was also my first time teaching. I learned so much—not only from my co-teachers but also from my students.
Although the salary in a private school is not as high as in public schools, I accepted the job wholeheartedly. For now, I am not focused on how big or small my salary is. What matters most is that I am happy with what I am doing.
Of course, my journey doesn’t end here. I still aspire to achieve more, and I know in my heart that I also want to work in a public school someday. That is one of the goals I will continue striving for. I will not stop until I achieve my dreams.
But for now, I am grateful and content. I am thankful to have a job that I love, and I believe that in God’s perfect time, all my dreams will come true.
And that is the story of a student who once dreamed—and is now a teacher.
To the youth and to anyone who may read this:
Never give up on your dreams. They will come to you at the right time. Be patient, work hard, stay diligent, and never lose hope. All your sacrifices will bear fruit in the end.
Thank you very much for reading!
