Beautiful Blue Heron At The San Diego Zoo

They usually stand between 36-54 inches tall and have a wingspan of 66-79 inches. They are quite tall, usually from 36-54 inches high. They can often weight as much as 9 pounds. What a beautiful site when large groups are in flight. These graceful birds are a dusty blue and are one of America's most beautiful birds.
On a world-wide scale, this is the third largest bird in the world. The Goliath Heron is the largest, and the White-bellied Heron is the second largest world-wide. There is nothing any greater than a flock of Herons passing by overhead. What a magnificent site.
