The ideal of every man and woman is to walk down the aisle with his or her other half. Every woman's fantasy is to have a fairy tale wedding. Even if we don't acknowledge it, many people have already visualized how they want their wedding to appear.
For one of our good friends Marco, February 18, 2022, will be a significant occasion. In our group chat, he informed us that he is getting married. It was wonderful news, and it came as a complete surprise. We've never seen him so excited for everyone to come to his special day. Of course, we support him as much as we can, just like a real brother. We made sure we'd be accessible on his wedding day, so we filed for time off, which luckily most of us were able to get granted time off.
🌸 The Preparation 🌸
I woke up early after hearing my phone ring; it was who messaged us on our group chat, requesting that we be "on time." I informed him that I was going to Ayala for coffee before meeting with them. I get a bite to eat and get ready after stretching and checking my phone for further notifications.
Lou pull a prank that he is not coming and made my eyebrows raise and since we are going to rent a car and he is the only one that has a number on the driver I was a bit worried about how we can get there on time. My friend try to cheer me up and after almost 30 minutes of waiting, Lou came with his obnoxious chuckle. We had a little time to converse while waiting for the driver as well as with Maye and her boyfriend Davide.
🌸 On our way to the Wedding + Ceremony 🌸
We were worried that we wouldn't make it to church on time because we had left the mall at 12:40 and the mass was scheduled for 2 PM. Meanwhile, is getting ready because we are going to pick her up from her house. Fortunately, there was no traffic, and we were able to pick her up while we were near the church where the wedding would be held.
When we arrived, the mass had already begun, and we were worried that Marco would think we couldn't make it.
We stayed behind and took as many photos and videos as we could.
We were in the back near the entrance door, and despite being a little too far away, we were cheering for him, especially when they exchanged "I do".
Following the mass, the bride and groom, along with family and friends, are required to pose for a wedding photo, and it was during this time that we were all able to approach him and personally say congratulations.
🌸 The Reception 🌸
The reception was not far from the church; nevertheless, because we were unfamiliar with the area, we relied on the Waze app and the other vehicle from the church to get there. I was really aback by how lovely the reception area was. They can make the location appear elegant. The entrance's design is modest yet elegant, and it appears great in the photo.
After we had settled in, the grooms and brides arrived. By the way, it was a double wedding. This was also my first time attending a double wedding.
After some pictures of the groomsmen and bridesmaids, and once everyone was settled, the program began with a lively host and her staff, as well as a dance number to warm up the floor.
Following the incredible performance, the entourage and the main sponsor, as well as the bridesmaids and groomsmen and the bride and groom themselves, were introduced.
If you've ever seen wedding videos where they're introduced and perform the TikTok dance, that's exactly what happened, and everyone was having a great time dancing to the music that was playing in the background.
The bride and groom dance for the first time after their grand entrance. They will wear a sash during this dance that guests can pin money to. It's a local tradition that never gets old. lol
I did put some money in the envelope as a sign of support as a supportive friend.
Following their first dance, there was another round of group shots with family and friends, and then we moved on to the most exciting portion of the evening, the dinner party.
🌸 Dinner + Music + Fun 🌸
We stayed for at least 40 minutes after dinner, but we couldn't continue the program because JL and Maye had to work the next day. We made certain that we were able to speak with Marco and personally congratulate him and send him our best wishes, and he gave us the adorable souvenir. He was overjoyed that we were able to attend the wedding, though he hoped that some of our friends could as well.
It was time to go home, and everyone was happy and weary, but we had fun and enjoyed the moment because we were able to support our friends even if we don't work at the same company, and we were able to be reunited with one of the most important events in his life, which was the wedding.
And finally were home, it was indeed one of the highlights of my activities this month of February.
By the way, have you attended a double wedding before? If so, how did it go? Let me know your story.
That's it for now and thank you for reading and for reaching to the last part of this blog, hope everyone is staying safe and having fun despite the pandemic. Till next time hivers! 💖💗
