I was visiting my dad's family today. They are totally non-tech people. But they are interested in what I do. So they asked me, what do I do? I could have talked about my own business but I looked at my dad and he gave me the 'nod'.
I know what he meant. 'You go and try to explain Blockchain to them. Good luck'
And off I went.
While explaining it to them I quickly realised something. They were interested. Genuinely interested. The guy used to sell cars in the past so he knows business and opportunity in general.
They both started to think with me about the possibilities of a blockchain world. They also saw use cases for blockchain in business. Smart contracts for selling cars can be super interesting for instance.
I also covered Steemit largely because it has my greatest interest at the moment.
I said to them:
It's a social media platform on the Steem blockchain with no owner that everyone can monetise and everyone can use. FOR FREE. More users are joining everyday and more apps/frontends are created. If you add value to the chain you get paid in Steem tokens and these you can change for Euro's or Dollars. There is no third party.
I also showed them my Wirex credit card.
And it went on like that and I realised that my blockchain knowledge is already so far ahead in the future that the world still needs to wake up to all off this.
And in the end I'm only just a simple user.
The whole space is incredible.
I talk about it more in my vlog. Why I no longer believe Steem is a bubble start @6:35
