this should be almost the final version..
Hoist the colors, proud storytellers!
What's boiling in the bananafish kitchen (the news!)
is keeping sustaining our community and wanted to talk about the contest during his Whaleshares Monday Night Curation Show - Literary Contest (check here the link). Let's all thank Rowan for his support and I strongly recommend you all to check his poetry and prose as he's an excellent and prolific author!
We are going through a crypto-winter, and keeping the contest's pot level is becoming challenging. The rewards are shrinking but the requirements for getting 1 SBI are always the same (however I'm partially helped by the STEEM liquidity). I will do everything possible to keep running it but your support is very much appreciated! Most of all, I hope that we can start coming here for the community (and I know that this is already the attitude of many of you!) and not only for a chance of a reward.
Talking about this.. a toast to
who offered to the contest not one but two steem!! This is amazing Cal and it will allow us to maintain a 4 SBI shares pot even for the next edition! And it's not over: Calluna is going to be next special guest storywriter for the 18th edition.. prepare, storytellers, prepare.
Also,
got voted by curie! Congratulations my friend, I'm so happy to see your quality work aknowledged :-D
Thanks to an
's idea, I created a comment section where we can vote our favorite story: one vote please (no weighted D100 or equations for voting please, I know it's not easy). This helped a lot, thanks anix.
The 500 words limit: the rules here are a) finish the story; b) before the deadline. That's it. Nothing else is a rule but an advice and a spontaneous crowd's decision to make this experience the best possible. The 500 words limit will be considered as a criterion of judgment? Yes but it's surely not the primary one. No, I don't want debates (not that we had one, so far) or I'll turn dogmatic, make it become a strict rule with the result of a useless restrictment in consideration of the community's scope. You always know that what counts more here is the originality of an idea and quality doesn't always need quantity ;-)
.. and I had to be brief..pheww..
Alright, let's cut the chatter, brave storytellers, the winners of the 5
shares are:
: by popular acclamation, the best contribution in this 17th edition. An accurate and original witnessing of those mysterious events. We all have been impressed by his lexicon's choice. The man is indeed a skillful wordsmith!
: another clever narrative solution. Originality at its best with an epistolary exchange and a completely mind-twisting perspective. Read this to have an idea of the highest level of content in little space.
: it's like that. His fiction is excellent and I do have to give him the 2 SBI. He was able to give birth to one of the most realistic battle scenes I have read since a long time, not only on steemit. His lyricism in the details, the historical accuracy, the different perspectives concerning the two armies facing each other.. Selecting the best story is surely not a science, but this is the winner.

For those that want to join the fun, here is how this contest works:

2. You finish it with your own post or a comment in the comment section. A limit of 500 words is recommended.
3. YOU WIN! 4 shares to the writers with the best ending + Wednesday's post SBD PAYOUT between all the participants who won't get one of the 4 shares
It's so simple and, most of all, we'll enjoy our fiction ideas!
