Hello friends. Last night I cooked a delicious Iranian stew.
I have taken photos of the cooking process to share with you.
* fesenjan stew
Ingredients we need for cooking stew:
- Chicken
- Walnut
- Pomegranate paste
- an onion
- salt and pepper
_ We grind the walnuts.
_ Grate the onion and fry it.
_ Add the ground walnuts to the fried onions.
_ Fry onions and walnuts on low heat.
_ After the walnut oil appears, add 1 tablespoon of pomegranate paste.
_ Stir and then pour water over it.
_ Add the chicken pieces.
_ Let it cook on low heat for 2 hours.
_ After 2 hours, add another 2 tablespoons of pomegranate paste. (If we want to have a sour taste)
Some people like this stew sweet, so they add a few spoonfuls of sugar.
_ After about 3 hours, the stew is ready.
This stew is prepared for large parties such as weddings.
Mutton can also be used instead of chicken pieces.
In northern Iran, this food is also cooked with goose or duck meat.
Along with this food, we can use a drink called Dogh, which has many fans in Iran.
Buttermilk is made from yogurt.
It is better to use low-fat yogurt because this food has a lot of oil that the walnut gives off during cooking.
To prepare homemade buttermilk, we stir the yogurt a little until it becomes smooth, then we add a little salt and dry mint to it. At the end, add cold water and stir until smooth. We make it very thin. A pitcher of water is enough for a cup of yogurt.
