I have always been the guy that people know for his poor clothing choice; most of the time, when I go out with my friends, I always look odd. It all started when I was little with the thought, "Who is watching me? and I don't dress to please anyone" was what was backing my ignorance. Well, I was a handsome boy, but my dressing sense was at war.
Since I was a little boy, I have always loved the color black. I always made sure there was a touch of black on any outfit I was putting on. I wonder how the black cultist guys never stopped me once anytime I’m putting on black on black because they regard that matching color to be their own. One thing I remember was that I had little fashion sense, as some of these pictures can tell.
Back then, I always felt on fire after putting on anything black, not knowing I wasn’t dressing in the right manner. I’m a guy who loves expensive clothes. You see the picture with the word “albam” written on it. That cloth was damn expensive, and it was the trend back then. It was the original design, and I loved it so much. I put on that shirt to any important occasion without minding the pants I wore on it because the shirt alone speaks class. Since I was little, there are some kinds of dresses you can never find in my wardrobe, no matter how far the fashion of those clothes trend. One of them is
Crazy Jean
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying crazy Jean is bad or people putting it on aren’t human; what I’m saying is that such a Jean can’t be found in my wardrobe. If my jeans have a small tear on them, I don’t always feel comfortable wearing them out. It’s not just my thing.
Shorts or Nika
I’m a big fan of shorts only when I’m inside my house, in my compound, or outside my gate. Anything that would make me want to go out to get things at the supermarket, mall, store, or our local market, I’m changing my shorts to trousers immediately. If visitors are around and they are people I don’t know, I would put on my trouser.
Polo and T-shirt
I love wearing polo inside my house, or when I go out to do things for myself, but on any official outing, I always love wearing a long-sleeve T-shirt. I’m the long-sleeve T-shirt guy. I so much love plaid t-shirts; the confidence it gives is out of this world. I also love short-hand T-shirts; they are my thing. I love shirts with buttons—something I can lock and unlock.
Currently, I’m still a big fan of black outfits, but I've come to realize that there are other amazing colors. Right now, I love wearing clothes with other colors that complement each other. I love the color white too; most of my sneakers are in white or have a touch of white. I love to dress simple: a straight pant, a plaid long sleeve, and a pair of sneakers to complement the color of my shirt.
When it comes to shoes, I make sure I select the right shoe for the right occasion. I don’t put on sneakers to meet business partners, or when we have a meeting with the CEO, I try to dress official with a black overshoe.
I also like to go on something simple when I’m putting on native attire. I don’t like black cover shoes that much, and I can’t put on sneakers in native attire, so I go for handmade leather sandals.
The truth is, I don’t dress to impress, but the position I occupy requires that I dress well and smartly. One thing I have come to understand is that people address you the way you’re dressed. When I’m going out, I love to dress well because good dressing commands respect, and it also gives me the confidence to approach other people who I think outclass me.
