Another enjoyable evening spent in an abandoned factory; some people go out clubbing or maybe to a fancy restaurant; I prefer to visit a derelict, desolate ruin and wave lights at it. This place is actually an abandoned colliery and in particular, the "baths" where the miners at the end of their shift underground would gather to get clean up before they knocked off work.
To create this shot, I positioned a Godox strobe at the back of the frame gelled red with a bottle of cheap fabric softener cut to fit over the flash head. Then I asked my willing victim aka volunteer to quickly pose with arms outstretched.
This image was created in one photographic exposure and is not a Photoshop creation. The camera used was a Sony A7 full frame camera with a Samyang 12mm fisheye lens.
About me: I specialise in shooting lightpainting images all in one photographic exposure which involves different elements with different lenses and tripods.
