Desde mis inicios en el mundo del jabón me sentí fascinado por estos tres jabones con tradición de siglos, así como del moderno jabón de "glicerina" transparente hasta igualar al cristal gracias a la magia de la química moderna, de la que nos beneficiamos todos, incluidos los jaboneros artesanos que ya no tenemos que recurrir a los prolongados y laboriosos procesos de concentrar la lejía cáustica a partir de cenizas de madera y arbustos de barrilla, como todavía lo hacen en algunas poblaciones rurales de Centroamérica y el norte de América del sur, llamados unos jabón de la tierra y jabón preto otros.
Since my beginnings in the world of soap, I have been fascinated by these three soaps with a centuries-old tradition, as well as the modern "glycerin" soap that is transparent until it is equal to glass thanks to the magic of modern chemistry, from which we all benefit. including artisan soapmakers who no longer have to resort to the time-consuming and laborious processes of concentrating caustic lye from wood ashes and barrel bushes, as they still do in some rural towns in Central America and northern South America, some called soap from the land and soap preto others.
Elegí el jabón de Marsella para imitar el proceso de producción, que se basa en las antiguas técnicas de saponificación por ebullición del aceite con la lejía alcalina, cocción y sangrado o lavado con agua y sal, agua de mar en la tradición de Marsella, para su posterior empastado y corte en se marca con los distintos sellos que lo identifican y el controvertido 72 % HUILE (Aceite).
He leído declaraciones y discusiones acerca del significado de este porcentaje por las que no tomaré partido y la realidad actual es que el jabón Marsella se fabrica con y sin aceite de oliva y la denominación se refiere al lugar de origen y a la técnica de producción.
I chose Marseille soap to imitate the production process, which is based on the ancient techniques of saponification by boiling the oil with alkaline lye, cooking and bleeding or washing with water and salt, sea water in the Marseille tradition, to its subsequent pasting and cutting in which it is marked with the different stamps that identify it and the controversial 72% HUILE (Oil).
I have read statements and discussions about the meaning of this percentage for which I will not take sides and the current reality is that Marsella soap is made with and without olive oil and the denomination refers to the place of origin and the production technique.

En la última imagen se ve la barra que se corta en pedazos y a su derecha parte del líquido que se desecha en el lavado con sal, que los antiguos llamaban "sangrado" por su color, el cual proviene de las impurezas del aceite y la glicerina del mismo que se diluye en el agua salada junto con el exceso de hidróxido, dejando el jabón puro.

Los cinco tacos de más de 300 gramos cada uno y de una ligera tonalidad verdosa los obtuve a partir de 936 gramos de aceites vegetales (Palma, coco y soya) saponificados con 130 g. de hidróxido de sodio y agua suficiente para su preparación y manejo. En el primer lavado incorpore 1 litro de agua con 300 g. sal marina que al mezclarse con el jabón provocaron su floculación y retire el agua del "sangrado". Como quería un color más atractivo, procedi a un segundo lavado, pero esta vez no con agua salada, sino con jugo de Salvia que aportará la ligera tonalidad verdosa del original cuando se emplea solo aceite de oliva virgen en su preparación.
Cuando los jabones están secos pesaran 260 g. cada uno cumpliendo con el requisito del 72 % de aceite, y el resto de su composición será: 9 a 10 % hidróxido de sodio ya transformado en jabón y un 18 % o poco más de agua, sal y trazas de glicerina que por suerte no se pierde en su totalidad en el proceso.
The five tacos of more than 300 grams each and with a slight greenish hue were obtained from 936 grams of vegetable oils (palm, coconut and soy) saponified with 130 g. of sodium hydroxide and sufficient water for its preparation and handling. In the first wash add 1 liter of water with 300 g. sea salt that, when mixed with the soap, caused it to flocculate and remove the "bleeding" water. As he wanted a more attractive color, he proceeded to a second wash, but this time not with salt water, but with Salvia juice that will provide the slight greenish hue of the original when only virgin olive oil is used in its preparation.
When the soaps are dry they will weigh 260 g. each one fulfilling the requirement of 72% oil, and the rest of its composition will be: 9 to 10% sodium hydroxide already transformed into soap and 18% or a little more of water, salt and traces of glycerin that luckily not is entirely lost in the process.
Al día de hoy los jabones se están secando y aun les falta perder 25 g. de humedad, pero las lluvias de estos días no han ayudado al proceso.
