BIBLE READING
JEREMIAH 36;1-32, JOHN 1:1,2
MEMORY VERSE: HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY, BUT MY WORD SHALL NOT PASS AWAY. (MATHEW 24:35)
Do you remember the story of the little boy named Josiah who was made king when he was only eight.

During the time that josiah was king, some men who were cleaning the house of God found a book which had been lost for many years.
This book was their Bible and God's holy word. many of the holy things in the house of God found a book which has been lost for so many years.
This book was their Bible and God's Holy word. Many of the holy things in the house of God had been destroyed by wicked kings, but God kept the Bible hidden away.

God word will never be destroyed. He takes good care of the bible because he knows people need to have it.
God told the preacher Jeremiah to take a big roll of paper and write a message to the people.
When king Jehoiakem heard that Jeremiah had written some words in a book, He asked for a man to raed them to him.
It was a cold day in the month of December. There sat the King in his comfortable chair before the fireplace.

The words that Jeremiah had written told of the sins of the king and the people and that they needed to ask God to forgive them and be saved.
It must have made the wicked King angry, so he took out his knife and as the pages were read, he cut them out and threw them into the fireplace.
What a terrible thing to do! this wicked king Jehoiakem was destroying parts of the book of God.
God told Jeremiah to take another roll of paper and write the same words again, and even add more words. God said he would punish the wicked king for burning the roll, and he did, too.
Are we always careful how we treat the Bible? it is God's word and we should treat it carefully. it is true and everything it says will come to pass.
