We have have been hearing about obedient, and most of us don't know what it actually means. Obedient is not a new word to any one. The opposite of obedient is disobedience.
WHAT IS OBEDIENCE?
Obedient is the act of complying or willing to comply with an order or request. Obedience means submissive to another's authority.
Obedient have to do with respect. Our present generation today has find it more difficult to respect their parents and even their elders especially the children.

Today children are soak with disobedience. For instance if they are sent on an errand , most of them always complain and mourn, which is against the laws in the Bible.
God said, children obey your parents in the lord for this right, honour your father and mother, so that your days on earth will be long.
It is good to respect our elders most especially when they sent you and errand. God loves people who are always obedient and he always bless them.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible has a lot to say about obedience. In the story of the ten commandments, we see just how important the concept of obedience is to God.
The Bible definition of obedience both the new and the old testament relates to hearing or hearkening to higher authority.

God want us to to obey him when he call on us. it is very wrong to ignore God words and also to disobey God instructions, because if we do, we will be punished.
God do not want us to go to hell that is why he want us to obey his words.
WHY IS OBEDIENCE IMPORTANT TO GOD
Obedience to God proves our love for him. (1 john 5:2-3)
It opens avenues of blessings for us. (john 13:17)
It demonstrates our faithfulness to him (1 john 2:3-6)
It glorifies him in the world (1 peter 2:12)
when we obey the lord, we can live a life of joy, peace and blessings without shame , rooted deeply in the Lord and confident in our eternal hope.

Our obedience is actually part of our assurance that we truly know God.
If we obey the word of God, The bible say "blessed are all who fear God , who walk in obedience to him" (Psalm 128:1)
The Bible often tells us that God always blesses all those who obey him and God also reward them.
God is gracious, if we have not been living for him. If we have not been following his commandments, if we have not been living in and for the world, we can be transformed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
There are so many apostle that obeyed God in the Bible and they were blessed. Some of them are Abraham, Iseac, and Jacob,David and lots more.
While others that disobeyed God are Jonah, Saw, Judas and lots more. You ought to know their punishment as a result of their disobedience.

REWARD OF DISOBEDIENCE
- Disobedience brings about set back, it makes us to loose lot of blessings from God.
- It reduces our days on earth.
- It brings problems to our life.
- It can make you to go to hell.
- It takes our attention from Christ Jesus.
My dear brothers and sisters, it is very good to obey God and the elders he has place to guard us.
Don't forget when we disobey our parents , we disobey God, and we disobey God there is always a punishment associated with it.
