It sounds like a fable or fantasy. A gull and a starling visits. A gull and a starling visits the pub... or a restaurant... Or gull and a starling tells a joke to the philosopher.
But this was not the case. We were drinking some beer on the edge of the beach and they visited. A gull and a starling.
The gull looked at us. And we looked at it. There was an intimate moment, almost like we became one entity, almost like we connected on a level that did not make sense in that moment. It was poetic, almost fable-like. But this was maybe the beer talking at this stage.
A rare moment, or not, one that we see everyday. But rare because we only spend some time looking when the world does not look; it is actually rare because we don't allow ourselves to embrace it.
It is funny how abundant life is around is, once we sit still and listen we will hear. Once we allow these sounds to reverberate through us, they will inhabit the spaces in our minds that does not allow us to think about life in this manner. Life is full of life.
This sounds tautological, yes, life is full of life. But once we realise that we should just look, listen, and allow this to penetrate our minds, a new world full of new life will emerge.

These birds are amazing friends that from time to time visit. The gull is one that will fly to your plate to steal some of your food! But that is just wonderful.
For now, happy birding and keep well.
All of the musings are my own, albeit inspired by these friends. The photographs are my own, taken with my Nikon D300.
